Soren barely escapes his prison, carrying his baby, both of them with a sought after bloodline that makes them invaluable. When Cassian brings the pregnant omega into his sanctuary, he has only been living to keep his final promise to create a haven, but now finds his wolf wants him to live long enough to protect Soren and the baby.
This was a fantastic start to a new series, the world-building was compelling and it was gut-wrenchingly filled with grief and hurt/comfort. Cassian is the epitome of a righteously protective Alpha and Soren is an omega that has fought to survive years of horrible treatment. I appreciated that Cassian never pushed and let Soren learn to trust him, and that Soren embraces Cassian’s past without trying to diminish it. Both Cassian and Soren are scarred but heal together and luckily surrounded by some supportive characters that are a true pack. I really enjoyed this and look forward to more from the Raines Pack.
