Mate Match: Curtis & Jae (Mate Match #1) by Jax Stuart

I love Omegaverse and mpreg even when it is not shifter related. It really is nice to read about a man going through pregnancy. Hehe.

From the blurb:

Mate Match, the love matching app with the highest success rate in the market! No one can beat us at finding loving, long-term romantic relationships for our members. We use in-depth questionnaires to get to the heart of what you want in a partner, or partners.

Worried about his upcoming heat, Jae signs up for the Mate Match app to find an alpha, not only to get him through it, but for an actual partnership, something he hasn't experienced before. When he meets Curtis, the strength of their connection sends him into an early heat. He asks Curtis to take him through it and is surprised at their compatibility in and out of the bedroom. Could Mate Match have really found him someone special?

When Curtis was pushed into signing up for the app by his friends, he truly didn't expect to be matched with someone as sweet and sexy as Jae. He was even more shocked to be asked to go through a heat with the omega. Can he convince Jae to take a chance on him for something more?

A surprise pregnancy threatens their relationship, putting their Mate Match to the test.

Mate Match: Curtis & Jae was previously released in the Knotting Hearts Charity Anthology. The story has since been expanded with more than 20k of additional content. You can expect this MM omegaverse, mpreg story to have a whole lot of fluffy sweetness, heat, and a cute baby.

Lori C's review:

Performance: Calm and soothing is how I would describe Sebastian’s narration. There is not a huge difference in intonation between the characters voices for Curtis and Jae. There is a more pronounced difference between the male and female characters. This doesn’t impact the pleasure of the narration. It’s just a difference in how each narrator performs their story.

Story: I really enjoyed this story! Curtis is a small business owner. He owns his own contractor business, works hard, and rarely dates. He is looking more for a permanent relationship rather than a hook up. Jae is a book illustrator and soon to be published author. He is fresh out of a relationship that didn’t work and is looking for that special Alpha that will love him and also support his dreams.

Curtis and Jae are so cute and really deserved their happy ending. I love that the story is based on finding true love using a dating app. Both of the main characters are doubtful at first, so their story opens with them texting each other. To me this is a fast paced story that gets you from meet cute to marriage quickly. I’m a fan of insta-love and happy endings, but I need more than steam and sexiness. Jax Stuart writes this book with enough plot to make the story more than that. There is a bit of legal drama and family drama and a whole lot of acceptance and love. It is a feel good story that is a quick read and a quick listen for days when you just need something happy.

SNik's review:

First in series (Mate Match). Audio. Omegaverse. Mpreg. POC representation. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

A matchmaking app that pairs a confident omega with a cinnamon roll Alpha. Both Curtis and Jae are looking for something long term when they meet through a dating app, and luckily the app has done an amazing job.

Jae is an omega that wants to continue his illustrating career even if he has a family and Curtis is a supportive Alpha that will give Jae everything he wants. Even an oops baby doesn’t make Curtis and jae hesitate, as they are both smitten and committed to seeing if they can have a lifelong partnership. I appreciated that the relationship was not angsty and their family and friends circled them in only supportive ways. I look forward to more stories from this universe.

The audio narration was entertaining but maybe not as effusive as I prefer. I did have to remember who’s POV the chapter was expressing at times. But overall a sweet story and a nice listen.
