Grave Sight (Cursed Arcana Book 1) by Sheena Jolie

A new trilogy start from Sheena Jolie set in the Beacon Hill Sorcerer universe. Ezra is a young but powerful necromancer and fire mage that works as a curse breaker. A dangerous relic has him seeking help from Raum a local professor with fae heritage and sparks fly.

From the blurb:

Ezra Redmayne left behind a life of wealth and luxury for adventure and danger. Refusing to bow to familial expectation, Ezra has been on his own for years, traveling the world, honing his skills as a curse-breaker. A new contract brings him to the Canadian wilderness to tackle a dangerous cursed artifact with a mysterious history, and the potential to destroy entire regions of the countryside.
In pursuit of answers, Ezra meets charismatic history professor Raum Norsson, a man with a lineage even more magical than Ezra’s. Raum is from an ancient bloodline of Elder fae peoples, and he’s spent most of his life feeling like he wasn’t living up to their legacy. When Ezra bursts into his library, exhausted and eager for information, Raum is determined to help the infamous and attractive sorcerer.
Together, both men dig into the history of the cursed artifact and learn more than they ever expected about its history, and themselves. Ezra and Raum are pitted against immortal beings, ancient magics, and a growing connection that neither of them can deny.

GRAVE SIGHT is the first book in the CURSED ARCANA series, and is part of the wider Infinite Arcana Universe. LGBTQ+ Urban Fantasy Romance.

SNik's review:

First in trilogy (Cursed Arcana). Paranormal. Slow burn. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

In this spin-off from the author’s Beacon Hill Sorcerer series, a new necromancer is introduced in Ezra, a curse breaker that also has an affinity for fire. While Ezra is dealing with how to neutralize a uniquely destructive object in Canada he crosses paths with a sexy fae professor.

This trilogy starts with a big sequence of action and magical powers, giving a good sense of who Ezra is and how powerful. It slows to give Ezra and Raum time to get to know each other although their attraction moves quickly so that the romance will likely become more serious as the series continues. I am fully invested in these characters, and the possible found family being built, along with hints at how these men will work together with their own unique powers and shared interest in history. Both Ezra and Raum are likable and intelligent, with a determination to invest an effort to be together, while being both sweet and steamy together. More please.
