Mink Hijinks (Double-Booked for the Holidays) by Morgan Lysand

MINK HIJINKS is part of the Double Booked for the Holidays combined author universe. Fated Mates, shifters, pumpkin bread, Christmas road trips, plushies, and so much more await for you in this book. If you want a quick sweet read for the holiday season, please give this one a chance.

From the blurb:

Pax

I just want to survive my Heat in peace, so I book a secluded cabin for the holidays. But when I’m ready to pass out after a long trip, I find something already in bed. Under the covers. My first thought? Giant friggin’ rat.

Turns out the rat is actually an Alpha mink shifter, and he’s very flirty. When I explain why I’m here and not with family during this holiday season, he offers to help me through my Heat. He says it’ll be casual, no strings. But the more time we spend together, the harder it is not to get attached.

Aaron

I didn’t expect to meet an Omega on vacation. I had plans to design my next line of stuffed toys, but he’s too distracting. His Heat’s getting the best of him, and I offer to help since I can’t knock up a human. Unfortunately (or fortunately) Pax is my fated mate, which makes things complicated. What starts as a simple arrangement becomes more than either of us bargained for.

Mink Hijinks is part of Double-booked for the Holidays, a multi-author mpreg shared setting at Christmas series with sexy shifters and forced proximity. Each book can be read as a standalone, but why not read them all?

Double-booked for the Holidays is a multi-author mpreg shared setting Christmas series. The winter holidays are hard on single shifters. Instead of going home to yet another barrage of “why haven’t you found your mate yet” questions, some prefer to book lodging and ride out their depressing time off between Christmas and New Year’s.

Except this year, their cabins are double-booked with unsuspecting humans.

Molly Otto's review:

Bloody hell this book was adorable as all get out. Pax needs to be away from his family to have a peaceful alone heat without the pressure of finding an Alpha who doesn't appreciate him as he is. Aaron is on a creativity block for his next stuffie line so decides to spend the holiday alone to restart. Fate has other plans and double books the pair. What makes this book great is the role reversal from your standard alpha and omega. They are both just themselves, and when Pax needs someone to take care of him, Aaron has no issue stepping up for that role and showing Pax, he can be appreciated for who he is. When the heat passes, they are bored and decide to surprise the family and ugh Aarons family is exactly what Pax needs in his life to be truly appreciated. The road trip doesn't end there off to Pax's home to meet BUCKLE and Pax's family. Where the two end up spending time deepening their bond to see if there are compatible outside of the bedroom. A great fun holiday mpreg romance with cute babies galore. Now I must say BUCKLE better get a book or I may riot and drive this author a little nuts begging for their story.

Angel's review:

Pax and Aaron have the cutest meet-cute I have ever read! If I found a 'Rat' in my bed I'd freak out too! Thankfully though, there was no rat, just an Alpha mink shifter who makes plushies, bakes, and sews. Not to mention he's a total sweetheart.

Even though Pax and Aaron meet under unusual circumstances and are strangers, they still form a sense of trust with one another during their stay at the cabin. Aaron didn't know Pax well in the beginning when he was being so kind, caring, and supportive towards the omega in heat, even though they were strangers he still offered kindness and support.

My favorite part of this book was when these two decided to go on a road trip to spend Christmas with Aaron's family. The road trip itself was enjoyable to read about but the moment when Pax gets introduced to Aaron's family was adorable! Everyone was so welcoming towards him and made him feel like family. I also want to say I'm very curious about Buckle, he seems so lonely on his own, I hope he'll eventually meet his mate.

I love how Morgan incorporated their love for plushies into a character in this book, its very cute and I enjoyed reading about Aaron's process of making various plushies.

This is a very cute, very sweet, Christmas romance book, with fated mates and a bit of hijinks.
