The Office Bet (King Sports Book 2) by Eden Finley

THE OFFICE BET, is book 2 of Damon Kings, Kings Sports agency series.

From the blurb:

Fox

There are only three things in life I’m passionate about: my family, sports, and hating Archer Holloway.

He’s the most prolific associate at the firm and out earns everyone at our level. Plus, he’s annoyingly good-looking and is somehow able to charm everyone. Everyone except me.

His athlete roster might be impressive, but his tactics for signing clients can be questionable at best.

So, when the chance arises to stealthily pitch to someone he’s gunning for, I don’t hesitate.

Two can play at this game.

Archer

I don’t understand why Lincoln Fox hates me. Okay, so maybe I signed a few athletes he was pursuing, but that’s not personal. It’s business.

I really do think he’d come to like me if he got to know me. He won’t give me the time of day though. He never has. Which is a shame because Fox is the most attractive man I’ve ever met.

The more he argues with me, the more everyone around us thinks there’s a spark between us. The office pool is over two thousand dollars now, but they’re backing the wrong horse. No one will win this bet because the chance of us hooking up are less than zero. Fox will never see me as anything more than an over-competitive jerk. Everyone is wasting their money.

Molly Otto's review:

If you are an Asher Dalton fan, you will love this book. He seriously owns the story, every time he enters the scene, he is the story. Fox and Archer have a great banter in the way they handle their job and the office humor. They may have excellent communication yet are too stubborn to see what really is going on. Damon, reappearing and showing why he is truly the OG head man of this universe, shows these men what is needed to make it work by giving them the hard truths. It was great to see how much he matured throughout the years and continues to share that wisdom with this next generation of players and agents.

Mix in some epic cameos from previous men of the Edenverse and fans are sure to keep wanting more from this series. As always, a joy to see these men post their stories and how they are coming along in their lives. And yes, that means some of these men are still let’s be blunt overgrown children, but that’s the appeal of this series to so many of their devoted readers. I am looking forward to seeing whose story is next.

Heather's Review:

This is a quintessential Eden Finley story told with characters from across the sports world she has developed.  Not only do we get the story of another Dalton, but we get all the banter, sass and steam that we expect from this author... We also get a whole heap of recurring side character energy from one of my faves, Damon!

But on to the romance - this is a classic rivals to lovers story with a little mischief, some forced proximity and a lot of growing understanding about each other's strengths and weaknesses as they learn to love each other!
