Danny Hall Gets a Lawyer (Goose Run Book 1) by Lisa Henry & Sarah Honey

Welcome to the small town of Goose Run, where everyone knows everyone's business. DANNY HALL GETS A LAWYER kicks off this all new series from Lisa Henry and Sarah Honey. This is the perfect book to put a smile on your face!

From the blurb:

Danny Hall is terminally single. That’s not surprising, given that he lives in the tiny township of Goose Run, Virginia, and the only other gay guys he knows live with him in his grandma’s house and are like brothers to him. It probably also doesn’t help his dating prospects that he works at a gas station.

When a series of petty disputes with his awful neighbor escalates into a legal matter, Danny calls in a lawyer. But when Miller Clarke turns up on his doorstep, Danny finds himself chasing more than just legal advice.

Miller Clarke is used to dealing with minor claims and oddball cases. But tree law? That’s a new one. He can’t exactly be mad though, not when his new client Danny is super cute and just Miller’s type. But Miller only intends to stay in the area for long enough to gain some experience before establishing a real career in the city. He doesn’t have time for a relationship, no matter how tempted he is. Miller’s got big plans, and Danny Hall and Goose Run don’t fit in with them.

You know what they say. The course of tree—true love never did run smooth.

Welcome to Goose Run, a small town full of quirky characters, big personalities, and unexpected romances. Just don't ask about the goose.

Molly Otto's review:

First off, how I missed you, Marty, and it was a pleasure to have you back in my life, you loveable creature.

Now on to Danny and Miller, Danny lives in the small town of Goose Run with his roommates Wilder, Chase and Cash, the four of them make a unique found family of four people who were meant to find one another and get along in life in their own way. Miller has no intention of liking small town life, yet when he gets his shot at leaving, he soon sees the pure joy of small town living. Where else can you have clients that you want to either strangle or protect, or in some cases maybe both? This is just one of those reads that has you smiling from page one, and you can not stop until you finish. With a great cast of side characters that you fall hard for, you are in for a treat of a great new series from Sarah and Lisa. I'm not sure how authors from Australia get small-town America and the bros that live there so right? But here we are. Cannot wait to read Wilders' story next to see who shows him his true colors.

Angel's review:

Danny and Miller's story is absolute sweetness personified with some humor and mischievous found family moments tied in. One thing that I love about this duo's writing is the comedic undertone that's within their writing style. Even when there are serious topic matters being discussed, or there's a bad guy doing awful things, there's always humor and comedy to help lighten the story back up, which I love! Don't get me wrong, I love serious stories too, but sometimes you just need a good rom-com, you know? And this is definitely that. This story has dual POV's so we get both Danny and Miller's perspective which is great! When the POV switches it's clearly marked which I appreciate, and I absolutely adore Danny's brothers. They may not be blood related but that doesn't mean they aren't brothers, cause they truly are. I'm so looking forward to Wilder's story and seeing who he's going to end up with.

Overall, A great MM romantic comedy with found family, a disgruntled neighbor, and an evil goose!

Mary's review:

I have thoroughly enjoyed Henry/Honey fun fantasy series that when I got the opportunity to review the first in their contemporary series, it was an immediate yes. And I'm so glad I did. It is just what we need in the mess of these days, loads of fun, some silliness, found family and kin family, with smexy times for our MCs, Danny and Miller. The blurb does a great job with the plot, so I'm not repeating it. Rather in addition to the neighbor/tree problem, we get to see these two's journey to their HEA, Miller figuring out what sort of attorney he wants to be, Danny saying yes to more. We meet Danny's roommates and Danny's grandmother, love them all. H/H gives us not only a truly small quirky town but also blue collar heroes. These are not shiny, polished people. We have gas station workers, construction workers, elder care workers. Heck, Miller is not a fancy attorney. People counting their pennies, the love interest not solving the problems with their wallet but rather being that shoulder, that support to help each other make their way through life. So refreshing! The secondary characters are so good, I'm really hoping the H/H's allow some cameos. Well, we all know Lucille will be around, shudder! And the gesture at the end, so many sighs. They give us a teaser of Wilder's story, it should be just as good, can't wait!
