The Complication (Executive Suite Secrets Book 2) by Jocelynn Drake

Sure, Parker wouldn't mind his long standing hookup to become more, but he figures billionaire businessman Declan will break it off if he asked. Unfortunately, circumstances change and Parker finds himself relying on Declan for more than their weekly meet ups, but can he really hope for more now that he's a full-time parent?

From The Complication blurb:

It was just a fling.

A bit of fun on the weekends. Definitely not permanent.

Not that I wouldn’t love to crack the ice around rich and sexy Declan Foster’s heart.

And he was the last person I expected to ride to my rescue when I found myself suddenly homeless and a father.

Now he’s spoiling my daughter and me at every turn, offering the perfect life on a silver platter.

Should I risk my heart on a man who once said he never wanted kids?

The Complication is the second full-length novel in the Executive Suite Secrets series, which includes a billionaire, a suddenly homeless single dad, snark, teasing, stolen kisses, “helpful” friends, a little princess who’s going to steal your heart, and a sweet, forever kind of love.

SNik's review:

Second in series (Executive Suite Secrets), but can be read as a standalone. Single dad. Opposites attract. Dual POV.

Parker has a good thing going with Declan, they hook up once a week no strings for some amazing fun, and because he got hired temporarily at Declan’s office he can tease the way too serious man all week long. Until Parker’s world is upended and he’s suddenly a full-time parent and homeless, that’s when Declan steps in and helps, with maybe a small hope of it becoming something more long term.

This story has some unexpected surprises that allowed Declan to become protective and caring, while giving Parker some much needed support and feeling of safety. I really enjoyed every moment of them together, the getting to know each other, the shared parenting, the super steamy interactions. Declan and Parker felt like complementary opposites, one gregarious the other not, and the fact that both men were leaning towards maybe exploring something more before circumstances brought them closer together made this seem like a forgone HEA. Some great supportive secondary characters and a sweet cutie of a baby rounded out this special gem of a book.

The Complication is currently available as an e-book and paperback
