Comfort in Chaos by River Winters

I was not expecting what this story ended up being, it's raw, gritty, and dark. But there is also some beautiful moments as well.

From the Comfort in Chaos blurb:

Eliot’s world shatters when he wakes in a dark basement, far from the life he once knew. Humans have taken him, and now he’s trapped in a cell with a boy who’s been there for years. But this boy isn’t ordinary. There’s something about him—something Eliot can’t ignore.

Eliot finds a strange bond forming between him and the boy. Pain, fear, and danger lurk in every corner.

What happens when the line between captive and ally blurs? And what will it cost to survive?

Angel's review:

Eliot and Remington's story is not for the faint of heart. I want to start this off by saying anyone who's thinking about reading this, please make sure you read the trigger warnings carefully. This is a dark story, with a lot of heavy topic matter. I'll name a few; s*xual assault, kidnapping, being drugged, and being forced to do things against your will.

While this story starts off dark with cruel things happening to both MC's, as the story progresses we get to see both of these men slowly start to heal. They both have a lot of scars from what happened to them, but together they are able to lean on each other and help each other get to a better place.

The concept of them being wolves but being masked as humans was really interesting! As was them bonding and becoming fated mates, I liked the uniqueness and creativity the author had with creating this story and these characters. All I wanted to do was give these men a hug, while it broke my heart that they went through what they did, I'm glad they were able to be what the other needed.
