Snowbirds: A Reclaimed Hearts Novella by Elle Keaton

When Chris goes on an unwanted vacation to Arizona it gives Ivan a chance to pursue Chris outside of the office in hopes that they can see if romance is in the cards for the law enforcement duo.

From the Snowbirds blurb:

Ivan Morrison is a "grab the brass ring" kind of guy.

And Chris Hatch is the biggest and brightest brass ring he's ever seen. The only one he's ever wanted.

Special Agent Hatch is having a midlife crisis. The guy he's wanted for years - but maybe hadn't wanted after all - is now with another man, and his boss is forcing him to take time off. Vacation is not something Chris indulges in, but when his parents offer him a place to stay, he heads to the desert to sweat out his mandated holiday.

Hell to the no. Ivan's not letting this chance to woo Hatch slip away from him. With personal time of his own, Morrison heads to snowbird territory planning to--okay, so there's no plan but it's do or die time. Woo Hatch or Bust.

The last thing Hatch expects to see parked in front of his parents' mobile home is Morrison's gas guzzler. Although, maybe he shouldn't be surprised. Ivan Morrison is the chaos factor after all.

What neither of them plan on is a septuagenarian motorcycle gang that is definitely up to something. What that is, Hatch and Morrison will have to discover--and maybe each other in the process.

Snowbirds is a novella in the Reclaimed Hearts world. It takes place after Red Flagged and should be read in order.

SNik's review:

Novella in the author’s Reclaimed Hearts universe that can be read as a standalone. Coworkers. Mature characters. Found family. Dual POV.

Chris is a DEA agent forced to use his accrued vacation days and ends up visiting his parents in their retirement community in Arizona. When Ivan finds out his crush is not working and on vacation he decides to follow him and maybe finally get his chance to woo Chris outside of the office.

This was a cute and entertaining read, as Chris and Ivan easily fall into a relationship that has been slowly building for some time and now can finally become romantic. There are some fun side characters, friendly banter, a small investigation into a missing neighbor, and a little bit of steam. We do get some background for Chris and Ivan even for such a quick read which was nice, and a really sweet HEA.
