Good Pucking Luck (The Jilted Exes' Club Book 1) by Riley Hart

Riley Hart kicks off her all new Jilted Exes Club series with Good Pucking Luck. A low angst feel good book of men becoming friends after being cheated on by the same guy.

From the blurb:

Hayes

Proposing to my first boyfriend at a hockey game wasn’t my smartest move. Not only does said boyfriend walk out on me, but the whole stupid thing goes viral, and it turns out the man I was dating has too many boyfriends to count. Internet fame has crowned me a member of the Jilted Exes’ Club, a name I’d do anything to escape.

One thing’s for sure: I’m not making the same mistake again. No more boyfriends, just easy hookups. And I’ll start with this gorgeous catch in Seattle. The only problem…he’s a god in bed, and I’m an inexperienced mess.

Rylan
After a night with Hayes, I play some of the best games of my career. It’s meant to be a one-and-done deal, but when I find out he also lives in LA and doesn’t want anything serious, I see an opportunity.

Hayes wants experience. I want my good-luck charm to help me win the cup.

The media would go wild over a pro hockey player dating a member of the Jilted Exes’ Club—a distraction neither of us needs. We want this to stay simple. Easy. No strings, no falling in love.

Except I’m pretty sure I’ve already fallen. After all Hayes has been through, how do I get him to entrust his heart to someone who’s only ever been labeled a player on and off the ice?

Molly Otto's review:

When Hayes is publicly humiliated to the point of a social media sensation, he swears off relationships. What he doesn't expect is the charismatic Rylan to build him up higher than ever before. In hindsight of the humiliation the the Jilted Exes Club (the other men in his disastrous relationship) is formed, building an unbreakable bond between these men who will help each other grow and move forward. What starts with a no strings attached mutually beneficial relationship leads to so much more for both parties. Rylan is that perfectly quirky combination of over the top and sweet that just makes you adore him from the start, as well as his superstitions. Hayes learns to grow with all his new support system in this feel-good low angst kickoff to Riley Harts all new series.

Heather's Review:

I love that this book gives us the contrast of building friendship, friends with benefits and wanting a real relationship.  There are so many layers to both the main relationship, but also the friendship being forged by the Jilted Exes' Club... and it makes for a truly delicious read!  I loved watching Hayes grow and strengthen himself as Rylan works to build him up and they both build trust in each other.  I love that Rylan is quirky and sure of himself in so many ways, but so superstitious in other ways and unsure of what to make of their burgeoning relationship.  This was a great read and I can't wait for the other jilted exes to get their HEAs.
