A Daddy for Christmas 2: Foster by Gabbi Grey

An older pup that's never been able to show that side of himself, and a younger confident Daddy that wants to give him everything. When Arnav meets Foster sparks fly, but they have to meet a second time to allow a relationship to grow between them.

From the A Daddy for Christmas 2: Foster blurb:

Foster

I’m a successful entrepreneur who’s made a good life for himself. I’ve had a few intimate relationships, but none have lasted. Probably because I haven’t been able to be my authentic self. See, in my heart, I’m a pup. I want to curl into a wonderful Daddy‘s lap and be petted, stroked, and praised. I long for piles with other puppies where we play and I can make friends. But who’s going to accept a forty-five-year-old man into that puppy pile?

Arnav

I met Foster on Halloween, and I wanted him because he was good-looking and hot, despite being twenty years my senior. Now, when I spot him across a BDSM playroom, I’m struck by his forlorn look. I haven’t seen him here on puppy-play night before, but I’m not surprised when he tells me he wants to be a pup. I was born to be a Daddy. For Foster, I’m ready to dive into the world of sweet pups and handlers and see if I have what it takes to make Foster’s Christmas wish come true.

Foster is an age-gap interracial gay romance about a lonely pup, a younger Daddy, and the best Christmas imaginable.

A Daddy for Christmas 2 is a multi-author series. Holiday tales of lost boys in need of Daddy’s love and in some cases, a firm hand. Naughty or nice, it’s all in Santa’s hands now. So why not dive in and read each standalone and enjoy the holidays alongside our boys.

SNik's review:

Part of a multi-author series (A Daddy for Christmas 2), but can be read as a standalone. Age gap. POC representation. Daddy/puppy. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Slow burn. Dual POV.

Foster is a lonely construction foreman that can’t forget his most recent abandoned hookup, and he’s looking for a special Daddy, but who would want an older pup? Arnav gets a second chance with Foster and he doesn’t want to let him go, and he tries to curb his bossy lawyer tendencies when it comes to slowly wooing Foster to agree to give a relationship with him a try.

I enjoyed that Arnav was a confident younger man that was immediately invested in Foster and was willing to give support, while appreciating all of Foster’s strengths and needs. With a supportive group of friends and family, and matching hopes for their future as well as their kink, Arnav and Foster move quickly into a committed and loving relationship. A cute read with a lot of different tropes for a holiday HEA, and I would have loved to see an epilogue of them after a few years.

Heather's Review:

I love the tie-in to Mission City and the Gabbi Grey's characters from that world add an extra layer to this story.  Arnav is confident and patient and Foster is just so sweet and genuine, making this an adorable but still steamy holiday story with some great twists and turns.

I truly love that the author doesn't pigeon-hole the characters, letting them have the dynamic they want, rather than what would typically be expected when you read age gap.  I also love how Foster's pup persona is allowed to thrive and grow... although I would have loved to see a couple of puppy piles.  I hope that this couple continues to be involved in future Mission City storylines so that we can get an epilogue to their story.
