Clair de la Lune is a new AU novella series featuring our favorite couple from the Pheonix Immortal series Soyer and Amory. Here instead of magic and the paranormal, we have our MCs in a contemporary small-town setting where we get to see them fall in love all over again!
From the blurb:
All he wanted was to sell flowers, not fall for the local tattoo artist.
After a breakup, Soyer has decided that moving to a quiet small town might just be what he needs to rebuild his life. He has no grand ambitions beyond selling flowers, at least not until a hot townie stumbles into his new and idyllic existence.
Tattoo artist Amory is everything Soyer is not, down to his sunshine personality. Soyer didn’t plan for anything more than a fling, and he certainly didn’t plan for meddlesome townspeople or all the snow, nor for the kitten that ends up in his care.
Navigating small town life turns out to be more of a challenge than Soyer had bargained for, especially during the holiday season. Still he is determined to get what he wants inclement weather and nosy neighbors be damned.
Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's review:
Soyer and Amory are such a comfort couple to me. I adored the two of them in the Phoenix Immortal series, so any chance to see more of them is one I am going to take. An AU reality definitely peaked my interest.
It was strange at first, with the MCs being in a contemporary setting, but I quickly adjusted. I was just so used to them being surrounded by the paranormal. Every time someone "new" popped up in the small town human Soyer had moved to, it triggered my smile. Each of the roles Piper picked for our beloved characters from the original series fit them in some way. I also liked that everyone's personalities are essentially the same. This is a new setting, not entirely new people.
Since Amory is back to being his shy, virginous self, we get to see Soyer seduce him all over again. He hasn't gotten very far by the end of this novella, but I have faith that things will progress in the next installment. I mean, who can resist Soyer's charm!? Not me.
Clair de la Lune is currently available as an e-book
