From the Clean Finish blurb:

Larkin

Look, here’s the thing.

I’m young, carefree, and my job as the assistant to Holt, manager and owner of the Goliaths of Wrestling, means I’m surrounded by half-naked beefcake wrestlers all day. Of courseI’m going to be interested in… getting to know them all better. It would be, like, illegal for me to not lust after them all, right?

There’s just one hurdle I have to get over first before I can… get to know the wrestlers in the way I want. And that hurdle makes me really, really freaking nervous.

So I come up with an amazing idea. Holt’s bodyguard Seb, a werewolf, is the quiet, dependable, calm presence in the office. He’s safe. He’s not as intimidating as the wrestlers, and we’re kind of buddies, so I decide to ask him for help with my little… predicament.

Just for some practice. Before I move onto the big leagues. That’s all it is. Practice.

Seb
I’m the foolish old wolf who’s pined after Larkin since the moment he started working here. I’ve had to watch him flirt with all the wrestlers, listen to him talk about how much he wants them, act like I didn’t care, and it’s never gotten easier.

At least no one knows. And I can never tell him. He’s too young for me, too carefree and irresponsible, and he’s never shown even a hint of being interested in me that way. Mentally, I’ve accepted it. My heart, however, is a different matter.

And then he comes to me with a ridiculous proposition. Something I never thought I’d get to experience, something I should absolutely turn down, but I can’t. I’m not strong enough to deny myself. And I want to help Larkin in any way I can.

It’s just practice for him. I have to keep reminding myself of that, every time I get to touch him—every time he’s pressed against me, every time he falls asleep on my chest. He doesn’t want me. He just wants… lessons. Practice.

That’s all it is. Practice.

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's review:

"Larkin was it for me, but I was wise enough and mature enough to know that sometimes, that just wasn't enough."

After finishing Impromptu Match I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one! Larkin was such a fun character in book 1. He's possibly the worst assistant to have ever been hired, but you cannot help but love him. There is an innocence to him, one that he tries to mask with his blatant oogling and gossiping. I am not the only one who noticed this either. Seb, the stoic werewolf bodyguard, also has a soft spot for Larkin. One that goes deeper than anyone could have imagined.

Seb was more of a mystery to me when I began reading, but it didn't take long after being in his head to realize what a good man he was. He adored Larkin, yet he planned to never tell him. And when Larkin asks Seb to essentially give him "sex lessons" it honestly broke my heart. I think I even winced. How was Seb going to do this? How was he going to hook up with Larkin knowing the skills he was teaching him were so he could enjoy them with someone else?

"This almost felt like a lucid dream. Or maybe a nightmare. One where I finally got to touch him, and he proceeded to go off and fuck other people."

I feel like I've made it seem like this book was angsty, but it definitely wasn't! It was full of the juvenile humor and laughs like book one that just makes my inner child squeal with joy! Larkin eventually gets his head out of his ass and realizes he's in love with Seb. As you can likely guess Seb was more than happy to make their arrangement a permanent one. There was a ton of laugher along the way and I just adored these two so much!

Next up, and I am so excited for it, is a WRESTLER!! I'm not going to tell you which one, but the little sneaky sneak we get sure sets the stage for what should be quite an interesting pair! Can't wait!
