From the blurb:

Revenge is a Dangerous Obsession

Dean Hunt needs the story of a lifetime—Since his uncompromising attitude got him fired, the investigative journalist is hell-bent to expose the powerful and corrupt Conway family. It’s a career move, and absolutely not a vendetta against the oldest son Noel, who ghosted Dean after a mind-blowing weekend together.

Noel Conway needs a new start—After years away, Noel has come home to rebuild the bridges he’s burned. Too bad his past caused a ripple effect he can’t outrun. Now, he’s asked to save his family from the one man he never expected to see again but can’t forget.

Dean is chasing front-page news, and Noel is trying to protect the ones he loves. But the line between enemies and lovers gets blurred when a dangerous criminal from Noel’s past resurfaces. Will the truth shatter their tentative trust? Or do they have a shot at happily ever after?

But none of that matters when suddenly Noel disappears…

Excerpt:
“Hey, I’m so fucking sorry. Time got away from me,” Dean said instead of a welcome. “I still need to get dressed.”

“No problem. It’s not like we’re expected.”

Dean stopped in his tracks. “Uhm…but we are invited, right? We’re not party crashing?”
Crickets.

Dean looked up at the mirror in front of him just in time to catch Noel’s eyes, roaming over his body. He clearly was staring at Dean’s ass.

Dean snorted. Then their eyes met. Noel laughed.

He turned his head away, but Dean caught the blush creeping up his face.

Noel wore an off-white knit sweater over dark jeans and still managed to look like a million bucks. His hair was in casual disarray. Those cheekbones that could cut glass were covered with a five-o’clock shadow. Leather bands, beads, and narrow cuffs in place as always. Tonight, Noel had added some rings. Celtic designs. They drew attention to his strong, long-fingered hands. Dean’s gaze lingered for a second on the soft-pink nail polish.

Bright hazel eyes made to reflect golden sunlight caught him staring, and a smile danced over Noel’s lips. Instantly, Dean was transported back to their first night together. Time had stopped then. And it stopped again now.

Or…maybe he had it wrong. Maybe time had stopped when he’d realized Noel wasn’t showing up for their date. When Dean had sat at a table for two—for over an hour—and understood that he could sit there for the rest of the night, and it wouldn’t matter.

Time had stopped when Noel had disappeared from Dean’s life. And in this moment, here, time jumped on again, like an old windup clock when the first gear starts up, slowly turning and bringing time back to life.

Oh, fuck. Dean couldn’t let this happen again.
