SOS HOTEL #4: Great Service from Top to Bottom by Adam Vex

Great Service from Top to Bottom is the 4th installment in the series. It's not a standalone as it gets progressively more bonkers from the first book, and to have any hope of knowing what's going on, you need to read them in order. And still not have a clue what's really going on.

These books are just such a delight and will keep you guessing until the very end!

From the blurb:

Something is wrong with Tom Collins. More wrong than usual.

Tom’s being nice.

I should have known trouble was right around the corner. One attempted murder later, and Reynard is forced to disarm Tom (literally).

No bartender, means no bar. Zee is grumpy and avoiding me, and the hotel’s measly profits are dwindling by the day.

Things are not going well. We need our broken, foul-mouthed Tom Collins back.

But don’t worry. Zee says saving Tom should be a walk in the park for us.

Turns out, that walk in the park is more like a road to hell. But I've got this...

My name is Adam Vex. I'm your average and mundane, human host. Welcome to another crazy day at the SOS Hotel.

Warning: SOS Hotel contains explicit language, situations, and content that some readers may find uncomfortable. For full warnings, please see the author's website or the paperback "look inside sample".

Rogue's review:

- paranormal
- humour

This series is like crack, it's so addictive it's impossible to put it down once you start. This is episode 4 and the madness doesn't stop. It all kicks off with a broken AI bartender - who may not actually be fully AI, but might be something else altogether, which actually doesn't surprise me with this series. This leads Adam, Zee and Reynard off on another adventure featuring murderous pixies, gremlins, fae, and trouble with the law. It's just another day at the SOS Hotel, really.

This episode really ramps things up between the 3 leads, with both Reynard and Zee finally admitting they might not actually hate each other after but might y'know, have a thing for each other. Cue lots of vampire dick jokes, Reynard maybe actually having a sense of humour and a pretty hot MMM scene. If I haven't said it, I love this series. Just when I think it can't get any more bonkers, I turn the page and there's murderous frogs and sperm with teeth. And hats. And Adam might not actually be fully 100% human after all. Who. Would. Have. Guessed.

I love this series and I NEED the next book like now. WHAT IS ADAM VEX? Other than SOS Hotel management.

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's review:

"ʜᴏᴡ ɪꜱ ɪᴛ ᴘᴏꜱꜱɪʙʟᴇ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ɪɴ ᴊᴜꜱᴛ ᴀ ꜰᴇᴡ ꜱʜᴏʀᴛ ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ, ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʙᴇᴄᴏᴍᴇ ᴍʏ ʟɪꜰᴇ? ᴡʜʏ ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴋᴇᴇᴘ ꜱᴀᴠɪɴɢ ᴍᴇ? ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴀʀᴇ ʏᴏᴜ, ᴀᴅᴀᴍ ᴠᴇx..."

Well that is a million dollar question is it not. WHAT, not who, ARE YOU ADAM VEX? And I'm sorry to say folks that although I have an idea bouncing around in my head, we still haven't had the big reveal yet! But don't worry, I can safely say it's coming soon.

This series is just so freaking wacky and I absolutely have so much fun reading them! Being in Adam's head is hilarious and I never know what's going to come out of his mouth next. Or Zees. Or, surprisingly, even Reynard's sometimes! Vampire Daddy definitely has some secret layers going on behind his mask of indifference.

"ɪ ᴡᴀꜱ ɪɴᴄʀᴇᴅᴜʟᴏᴜꜱ ᴡᴇ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴅɪꜱᴄᴜꜱꜱɪɴɢ ʀᴇʏɴᴀʀᴅ'ꜱ ᴘᴇɴɪꜱ ɴᴏᴡ, ʜᴇʀᴇ, ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏᴛᴇʟ ꜰᴏʏᴇʀ."

We are also making our way closer to the MMM goodness that has been promised. Nash is such a freakin tease I tell ya! This one had me on the edge of my seat with the UST that was flying around these three. AND THAT CLIFFHANGER!!! I felt that one in my chest and I absolutely need the next one of these books ASAP!

"ɪ ᴀᴍ ᴄʟᴇᴀʀʟʏ ɪɴꜱᴀɴᴇ. ʙᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴀᴛ'ꜱ ᴇɴᴛɪʀᴇʟʏ ᴀᴄᴄᴇᴘᴛᴀʙʟᴇ, ʜᴇʀᴇ ɪɴ ᴛʜɪꜱ ʀᴇᴍᴀʀᴋᴀʙʟᴇ ʜᴏᴛᴇʟ."

Jacquie's Review:

"Zee showed the pixie his middle finger. “Understand this?”
The pixie showed Zee its own tiny middle finger.
“The f*ck?” Zee blinked.
I snickered. “I told you.”"

Another adventure from the SOS Hotel with gremlins and Tom Colins taking center stage.

Each of these installments is a quick read for me because I just don't want to put them down. There's so many laughs, plenty of steamy stuff going on, and revelations. I won't say too much for spoilers, but there is a mild cliffhanger.

The trio are getting there with their feelings for each other. All of them are complicated characters. Zee uses humor to hide behind. Victor is stoic, seemingly unfeeling, but he's a mess. Adam tries so hard to be a boring human when we all know he's something else.

I really enjoyed the Tom storyline. I missed him being around with all his quips.

Things are really ramping up!

Molly Otto's review:

This series is so infuriatingly brilliant that you just can't look away. Well, thank you, Adam, for describing frogs in a way that a new fear has unlocked, so go you! Our favorite barman has been 'fixed', and no one is happy, so it's up to hotel management to fix the issues. As with anything in this group, things don't go according to plan, and their help needs to be fixed. At this point, their luck is a true talent. The three main characters all have their secrets that we are slowly uncovering, and yet more questions happen with every answer. The mark of a truly brilliant author is to keep us hooked and on the edge of our seats from start to finish. As usual, sitting at the edge of my seat for the next installment, crossing fingers, next book will have more answers and fewer questions.
