Never Say Never: Make Mistake #2 by Odessa Hywell

The Mate Mistake series has a second outing with Never Say Never. These are brothers that kiss on the mouth!

From the blurb:

How far would you go to keep a brother who was never meant to be yours?

When Keenan, an alpha and enforcer for the Carbondale pack, realizes his stubborn refusal to acknowledge the truth of their relationship is the reason his omega brother is a shadow of his former self, he accepts the only way to fix what’s broken in Ellis is to give in to his wolf’s darkest desires.

During a high stakes game of truth or dare that takes an unexpected turn, he does the unthinkable.

He mates with his little brother.

As they seek solitude and succumb to the effects of the false heat triggered by the mate bite, Keenan and Ellis forget about the possible repercussions that await them at home.

Will Keenan get to keep his baby brother as his own? Or will the brothers be pulled apart before they have a chance to really be together, by an alpha who may be unwilling to make an exception for them?

Jacquie's Review:

I knew as soon as I started this book that I wouldn't be disappointed. Sweet and incredibly steamy, Never Say Never gives that taboo goodness.

The Carbondale pack is going to go through a lot of changes soon - this book opens up a lot of possibilities for them, but also gives them a new enemy.

I adored slightly bratty Ellis and his alpha brother Keenan, who would do anything for him. They really did try to fight their connection, but when they gave in? Phew.

The mix of taboo with omegaverse is just perfect for me. These guys are each other's worlds and I loved to see them get their HEA.

Lilly's review:

It's no secret that I absolutely adored the first book and was super excited for Keenan and Ellis' story, but now that I read Never Say Never, I dare say that I enjoyed this book even more.

I loved how low angst this story was. Yes, it's taboo, but sometimes you just need two brothers in love without all the heavy stuff. Don't get me wrong, Keenan and Ellis cause tension and issues within their family, but in the end they are accepted. So don't expect them to be shunned or rejected; that is not the focus of this story.

I adored how affectionate and close they were before becoming mates. Ellis is the baby of the family and the only Omega, and Keenan is the eldest and Alpha. Ellis is doted on and spoiled by his big brother.

I appreciated Riley's strength as an Omega, but I also loved how Odessa wrote Ellis! I jokingly say that I'm an omegaverse traditionalist; I like my Alphas like Alphas and my omegas as omegas with that traditional Alpha/Omega relationship dynamic. I get that in this book. We have the size difference; Ellis is more submissive, and I love how his brother reassured him that it's okay just to be himself, an omega and that there's strength in that.

The steam and the kinks.

Odessa writes some A++ steamy scenes, but this book takes it to another level. We get CNC, mouth knotting!!! (like I can count on one hand how many times I read that in a book), breath play, shift sex and more!! I loved it all so much.

The world-building! I am super excited for what is to come in this series, we get a peek as this book sets up next story. I am so excited because we are going to get mpreg in this world and I’m hoping that we will get to see both Riley and Ellis pregnant by their brothers! I need some honest to god incest mpreg, please and thank you!

Overall I really enjoyed Never Say Never and can’t wait for Locke and Jaiden’s story!
