Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's Review:

"𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘴. 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦, 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘥𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘦. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵, 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶."

I mean holy swoon, am I right? Death may be clueless about mortals and dating, but the man sure knows how to turn a phrase. Chan had no hope of staying strong against him. Fortunately, he didn't want to. During their many adventures, Death proved himself to be quite the companion. He was constantly making Chan laugh, while also making him feel cherished. Those two were so much sweeter than I expected. Not to mention H-O-T!

There are a couple of new additions to the friend group whom I wonder if we will be seeing in future books of the Dead Serious world. The one of the furry variety is certainly intriguing. Don't worry, you'll understand once you read it. I really enjoyed this companion novella and hope that we see more adventures with Death and Chan in the future.

Rating: 5 Stars

Alyssa P's review:

Wow!

The Grim Adventures of Death & Chan were so much fun! I was laughing and engaged the whole time! These characters in this book are from Vawn Cassidy’s Crawshanks Guide to the Recently Departed book series, Death and Chan definitely deserved their own short stories, Vawn Cassidy did not disappoint! These short stories definitely gave the audience more insight into these characters which was much appreciated, the author knows how to brings Chan & Death to life.
