His Gingerbread Omega, Christmas Omegas by Raiven Matthews

His Gingerbread Omega is a great holiday novel to get you in the spirit of Christmas for the season!

From the blurb:

Nik Kringle

Bah humbug! Being the son of Santa wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

Having no desire to follow in daddy dearest’s footsteps, I left Santa’s Village and never looked back. Unfortunately, my life’s goal of avoiding all the merriment associated with Christmas became next to impossible when my boss ordered me to ride on our company float in the town Christmas parade. The only silver lining is spending more time with my secret crush, Keegan, an omega who smells like gingerbread. The cute barista’s smile lights up my world brighter than any Christmas star. Too bad he practically breathes Christmas cheer, while I would rather forget the day exists. When Santa’s head elf appears demanding I return home–a mistake, or maybe fate–lands both myself and Keegan back in Santa’s Village. Now I’m dealing with disappointed parents, a grumpy elf, obstinate reindeer, and an omega with an unexpected heat. Who just might also be my fated mate.

Keegan Mallory

Christmas was my favorite time of year!

Making gingerbread houses, baking cookies, and singing Christmas carols with my family are traditions I look forward to every single year. Riding on my company’s float in the parade was supposed to be the kickoff to my holiday festivities. Being magically transported to Santa’s Village by a seven-foot-tall, grumpy elf definitely wasn’t on my to-do list. Now I’m stuck here for a week with the alpha I’ve been crushing on for months. Nik Kringle is sexy and mysterious, but he’s an unapologetic grinch. He's also Santa’s son! Nik says when he takes me back to the human realm, I won’t remember any of this. Not the village, his famous parents, the ice-skating penguins, or him. When my heat unexpectedly hits, Nik and I give into the desire we’ve been dancing around for months. How can I be expected to return home, leaving my fated mate behind, without any memory of him? Will Santa grant me a last-minute Christmas wish?

His Gingerbread Omega is a sweet, fluffy MM holiday story between a human omega and a not-quite-human being. It features Christmas magic, knotty heats, and Mpreg. While set in the same world as the Sweet Alps Mates series, it can be read as a complete standalone.

Christmas Omegas is a multi-author series. Each story is a standalone and features a fun Holiday Season Parade! Whether it's a paranormal pairing or a human pairing, you can expect these omegas to find love during the holidays.

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's Review:

"𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐬."

Well, this adorable novella was certainly one to get you in the holiday spirit! I mean, the book is actually set in THE Santa's Village during the holiday season and Nik is the living, breathing actual son of the big man. It doesn't get much more holiday themed than that!

I really loved Nik. He may seem like a grumpy git, but he tends to feel things pretty deeply and just keep them close to the vest. Holding in all those big emotions would make me pretty grumpy, too. Keegan is the opposite. There's a reason Nik calls him Sunshine. He's such a bright personality and Keegan is rarely seen without a smile. His exuberance when visiting Christmas Village was impossible not to adore. If only it wasn't temporary...

"𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞. 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮."

Unfortunately for our MCs, humans aren't allowed to stay in Christmas Village except for in very specific circumstances. Keegan has a family he loves back in the "real" world. Parents and a brother. How could he leave it all behind, even if Nik was the man supposedly fated for him? Then again, how can he choose to go back to his life with no memory of the man he's fallen head over heels in love with? It's an impossible choice. Thankfully, with a little Christmas magic, and I'm sure a bit of fate stepping in, our MCs end up with an HEA worthy of any holiday movie marathon.

Angel's Review:

This story was full of festive cheer, holiday decorations, and jolly goodness. Along with family disputes, after all, what are the holidays without some arguments?

Nik blends in as a human in the world he chose to live in. He ran from the world he came from because no one there ever once asked him what he wanted. Childish? Sure, but he didn't feel heard, and he was let down by his parents. Ever since he left, he's been a Grinch around the holidays, and the Omega he's had his eye on who smells like gingerbread is one of those people who love this time of year. Bah Humbug!

Keegan works at the coffee shop and loves Christmas! It's his favorite time of year! He doesn't get why the grumpy alpha he looks forward to seeing every morning at the shop is such a Grinch this time of year. But he's going to find out why. And... He wasn't expecting the answer he got.

This book was so festive and so, so, very cute!! I love holiday romance stories and this was such a good one!! The background descriptions of Santa's Village were so vivid I could see it in my mind? And the added detail of there being skating penguins and reindeer who can communicate just added an extra touch of Christmas magic! I adored how Keegan loves Christmas so profoundly, and how he loves to bake and create gingerbread houses. That was a cool aspect!! Especially because that's one of my favorite activities to do this time of year as well.

Despite Nik being a Grinch and grumpy at times, throughout the story we learn why he is that way. What caused him to despise the holidays so profoundly, and why he left his home? We also get to see his character grow from the grumpy Grinch, into a slightly grumpy man who learns how to love the holidays again, due to his Gingerbread smelling Omega.

One thing I'll note is it was never quite explained why at first Nik smelled like a musky alpha and then started smelling like sugar cookies? I'm curious to know as to why that happened, but it didn't get answered.

Overall, this book was really well written with excellent character, terrific details, a good slow burn romance with spicy times but they weren't too much, and a sweet family aspect. Oh! This book will not only put you in the festive spirit, but it'll also make you crave Hot Cocoa and cookies.

Molly Otto's Review:

What a wonderful addition to the Christmas Omegas mpreg universe! Nik & Keegan are a beautiful grumpy/sunshine pairing showing opposites do attract and fate steps in to give them a helping hand.  Will admit was teary during tough choices and so happy they all worked out in the end.

A great mpreg Christmas read. I have not read the other books from this universe, and it doesn't feel that I'm missing something. So can easily be read as a standalone to see if you like the author's style of writing before diving into their omegaverse.
