Fight the Tide (Kick at the Darkness Book 2) by Keira Andrews

Even on the water, they may not be safe. Creepers are still infesting the mainland and Adam and Parker don't know who to trust, but there's an island called Salvation, offering safety if they can agree to try. Fight the Tide is the second entry in Keira Andrew's Kick at the Darkness series.

From the blurb:

Adrift in chaos, they only have each other.

The world as Adam and Parker knew it burns.

With the zombie-like infected rampaging through the ruins, the only escape is the open sea. Then they hear a message over the airwaves from an island offering refuge.

While Parker is dead set against it, orphaned wolf Adam can’t resist the call of the pack he’s always wanted.

Is Salvation Island their safe harbor—or a trap?

Fight the Tide is a steamy gay romance from Keira Andrews featuring found family, werewolves, the zombie apocalypse, and of course a happy ending (eventually).

SNik's Review:

Second in series (Kick at the Darkness), must be read in order. Apocalyptic horror/paranormal. Established couple. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Dual POV.

Making their way down the coast, Adam and Parker try to avoid land, only stopping to gather supplies. Still reeling from the last couple of months, Parker has become even more afraid of meeting other people, while Adam has a yearning for a community that may be his werewolf side talking. They pick up some stragglers that need help along the way but are torn when there is the promise of an island that promises safety called Salvation.

This story had more time with Adam and Parker trying to balance their relationship in their new normal, as they are still committed to being together but unsure how that should look for them, knowing they can’t stay at sea permanently.

I’m still super invested in Adam and Parker’s survival and happiness, hoping that their found family and the island provide them.

This series is hard to put down once you start. HFN for now as Keira Andrew has the final book of the series coming out January 2024 and I’m excited to read Adam and Parker’s conclusion.
