Dominic and the Dolphin (Land and Sea: A Shifter Series Book 3) by Vinni George

Dominic and the Dolphin is book 3 in author Vinnie George's Land and Sea shifters series and I think Dante and Dominic are my favorite so far. Their journey from enemies to lovers was filled with steam, banter, and plenty of surprises to keep you entertained.

From the blurb:

What happens when fate intertwines shifters from land and sea?

Dante Perez knows what it’s like to be an omega in an alpha’s world. He’s fought to make his company one of the best, and when he gets the opportunity to sponsor the summer’s air and water show circuit, he’s not going to let anything stand in his way, especially not alpha flyboy Dominic Pavone. Or his inconvenient attraction to the irritating man.

For Dominic, being a stunt pilot for the summer is usually the best part of his year. Until Dante ruins everything by traveling with the show. Now Dom can’t escape Dante no matter how hard he tries… and maybe he’s not trying all that hard.

When a hotel mix-up leaves Dante and Dominic sharing a room, the sparks that normally fly between them turn into flames of a different kind—the type that set the sheets on fire, and both men realize there is more between them. A lot more.

As summer and their arrangement comes to an end, a surprise changes everything they thought they knew about each other, but maybe a new beginning—the kind that leads to forever—is exactly what Dom and Dante need.

Dominic and the Dolphin is book three in the Land and Sea shifter MPREG series featuring a dolphin shifter who refuses to back down from any challenge, an eagle shifter who can’t stand being grounded, a whole heat season that’s hotter than the summer sun, and some very unexpected nesting.

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's Review:

"𝘓𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮, 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘋𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘢𝘵𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦. 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘩 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦."

Omg this was filthy, and I loved every second of it!!! I'm pretty sure I can call this Vinni George's steamiest book to date. Once these two had a taste, they could not keep their hands off each other. Of course, this is helped along by the fact that Dante, as a dolphin shifter, experiences an entire three months of low key heat instead of just one week of being out of his mind with lust. This book definitely made this steam queen a happy reader.

I loved the push and pull between Dante and Dom. They were constantly at each other's throats. Most people thought they hated each other, including the MCs at first, but it was more like vicious foreplay, to be honest. I loved seeing Dante prove Dom's misconceptions wrong at every turn. Serves him right for making assumptions. And though Dante puts on a good front as CEO of his billion dollar company, the man is much more soft inside than he appears. As Dom got to see more and more of this side of Dante, he found himself falling for his supposed nemesis. Thankfully, Dante was falling right there with him.

"𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘧 𝘋𝘰𝘮 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘧 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴. 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴."

There was plenty of humor in this book, along with the steam I mentioned. Dante's frantic and totally out of character nesting instincts had me laughing quite a bit. It also had Dom completely out of his element, which is something he's not used to being. The journey to their HEA may have not been the smoothest, but I enjoyed the hell out of their ride.

Angel's Review:

This book is full of enemies to lovers, let me tell you. I honestly had no idea how their hatred for one another could morph into anything else, but as I kept reading, I discovered how their hatred for one another slowly shifted into something else.

Let's start with Dante, our dolphin shifter. He owns his own company, and is extremely independent, except for when his heat comes around. The only thing that can help curb his blistering heat is an alpha, however, the only alpha his body wants is the one he's determined to hate.

Dominic is an eagle shifter who flies planes, he was hired by Dante to perform in the shows Dante's company puts together. He doesn't know why he hates the man so much, but Dante doesn't exactly make wanting to be nice easy.

I liked this story. Vinni writes really adorable shifter romance stories. And there was mpreg in this book! I won't spoil what the baby/babies ended up being, but let me just say... The description of them is so cute! This book has a good pace. The only thing I'll say is Dante and Dominic went from hating each other to liking each other pretty quickly. But the way Vinni wrote it made that progression seem natural. There was A LOT of spicy times in this story, so if you like a high heat book, then this is definitely for you! I really liked being able to get glimpses of past characters, along with learning more about Dante's dolphin shifter side, and Dominic's eagle shifter side. It's really unique how Vinni puts so much detail and backstory into each shifter. Vinni teaches us about each shifter's heritage and lineage, along with different biology aspects as well.

I thought this was a really cute, spicy story. I am excited to read the last book in the series that's coming out soon!
