Hanging With Daddy, Pride Pet Play by JP Sayle

"JP does the best daddy books!" - Nicole. Hanging with Daddy was popular with our reviewers.

From the blurb:

When friends interfere in Austin’s love life, putting him directly in Gaines path, can they both find what’s missing from their lives: love?

Owning a thriving security business that caters to the kink community, Austin has everything he wants—except a boy to care for. When one of his men cannot make an event, he steps in. What he doesn’t expect is to find himself charmed by the tiny man dressed as a koala doing an aerial display on a pole.

Gaines loves all things koala and incorporates pet play into select events where he performs. At one such event, he sees the perfect Daddy. With some encouragement from his best friend, Matty, Gaines takes the initiative for the first time in his life. Austin is everything he’s ever wished for. But how far would the man go for his affections?

Thinking he wouldn’t be interested in pet play, Austin soon learns different. When the little koala asks Austin to be his handler for Pride Fest, it’s an easy yes. The last thing he expects is for Gaines to use him as a pole. What could possibly go wrong?

Hanging With Daddy is part of the Pride Pet Play 2023 multi-author series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but why not check them all out? If you like playful pets who are sometimes naughty, Pride parades, and Daddy’s who love their boys unconditionally, you’ll fall in love with our pack!

SNik's Review:

Part of a multi-author series (Pride Pet Play 2023) but all are standalone stories. Daddy/boy. Age gap. Dual POV.

Gaines is a pole aerialist and instructor looking for a Daddy that may want a small koala loving boy. Security business owner Austin doesn’t realize his friends are trying to set him up with the stunning performer who he can’t keep his eyes off of when he helps with security for a party.

Austin and Gaines lose no time giving into their mutual attraction, finding that they fit together easily. Austin is a generous and caring Daddy and Gaines is a sweet boy that likes to spend his spare time as a koala and hanging onto his Daddy.

Austin is just absolutely lovely when including Gaines’ best friend as he knows how important Matty is to Gaines, and even though their feelings grow fast they fall strongly for each other communicating honestly and openly.

A cute story with plenty of steam.

Heather's Review:

I am loving this trend of exotic 'pets' that I've been seeing in some of these multi-author series - from the birds and sloths to unicorns and now Koalas, it's been great seeing just how authors interpret these more unusual pets and the men who become them.

Austin and Gaines are well matched and I love that Austin is willing to try to fit into Gaines' world rather than take Gaines out of his element... I love bot the daddy vibes and the way Gaines' koala is part of his play and that personality carries into his everyday life...

This was a short, sweet and steamy story that held my attention from beginning to end and made me want to continue to be a fly on the wall of Gaines' studio and their home for years to come!

Nicole's Review:

JP does the best daddy books!  Gaines is the sweetest little koala ever. I’m thinking this must tie into another series as the side characters from Austin’s business seemed established but this wasn’t a detractor from the story.

I really liked that Gaines’s family money wasn’t an issue, and that Austin also could respect his relationship with Marty. I loved that friendship dynamic.

This was a short sweet story but it packed a punch!

Gabrielle Lee's Review:

This is the first koala pet play book that I have read. Gaines and Austin make a great couple and I enjoyed watching their relationship take shape.

Gaines is a sweet boy and his koala is just too cute. Austin is a good man. It was nice to see the two work together to figure out if they fit together. I love how open Austin is to trying something out of his normal routines.

Their story is a sweet and sexy read. The author does a nice job of bringing out the emotions and friendships in this story. It moves at a good pace and pulled me right in and I quickly fell in love with this world.

Lori C's Review:

Austin no longer dates! He proposed to his boyfriend, got dumped, and gave up looking for a little to love. Seeing his best buddy Warner all cuddled and coupled up happily with Terrence is making him a little envious to be truthful. Thank goodness for good friends and coworkers. It may take a little sneakiness here and there, but they maneuver Austin exactly where they want him - at a party to meet Gaines! It may take a minute, but Gaines works up his courage and goes after the Daddy of his dreams. Will Austin say yes to the date? Can this Daddy get over his fears?

I finished A Little Christmas: Terrence and wanted Austin’s story so bad!!
J. P. Sayle wrote us all a story to love. We got a Pride parade, an exotic pet, spicy pole scenes, and a new best friend to love. I mean there was just too much to love in this book! I thought Warner and Saul were great friends for taking matters into their own hands with Austin. The same can be said for Matty. He encourages Gaines at every point and now I seriously need, N-E-E-D, a Matty story. Also, who hasn’t wanted to learn to pole dance? It sounds so fun and yet I know I would be one huge bruise.  Overall, I was glad to come back for a visit to Chicago, revisit old friends, and see Austin get his happily ever after!
