Demon Heart, Cursed Hearts, Book 2 By: Rhys Lawless Narrated by: John York

"Demon Heart" is an incredibly interesting and compelling novel

From the blurb:

He’s finally free.

And I can finally remember.

Things should have gone back to normal. They’re anything but.

Chaos erupts across London, and my faith in the High Council is ruptured. Wouldn’t you know the entire paranormal community seems hell-bent on blaming it on my boyfriend....

History repeating itself?

Not this time. I won’t lose Wade. Not him.

Not again.

I’ll do anything to protect him. Even if it means taking on friends and enemies alike.

But the last one I expected to be a threat to Wade is…Wade himself.

What’s going on with him? Who’s behind the brewing war? And what will it take to stop it?

Demon Heart is the second book in a gay urban fantasy romance series, and it’s best listened to in order. It’s filled to the brim with magic, heart-pumping action, and steamy times. Book two contains a budding relationship, fated mates, and ends on a HFN.

Tatted_book_freak's Review:

The continuation of the series was much more interesting than the last, though now I can understand the importance of the circumstances around book one.

Caleb and Wade continue to grow their relationship before taking it to the next level, which I am honestly a little lost as to the purpose.  Maybe it had the intention of invoking Avalice or connecting to the universe to save the world from the apocalypse.

John York does another fantastic job bringing these challenges to life. It does help tremendously with his British accent, but there were still a few questionable moments of who was speaking. Wade had the deeper of the two voices, yet there were times when Caleb sounded very familiar.

Either way, an intense and chaotic addition, with a HFN ending, though I feel like there’s more to come in Vampire Heart.

Rating: 4 Stars

Lesetiger's Review:

"Demon Heart" is an incredibly interesting and compelling novel that follows on from the events of the first volume. I recommend listening to the books in order.

Wade and Caleb are able to strengthen their relationship while more and more intangible things are happening around them. The magical world is turned upside down and a battle may be imminent. But who will be on whose side and what will happen in the end?

The story was fast-paced, exciting and full of action and mystery. I liked the intrigue, which is easy to understand if you know the events from the previous volume.

The secondary characters were also interesting and I liked them.

What a roller coaster ride of emotions! It was a pleasure to listen to the story and it was very entertaining. I listened to the audiobook in just one day and I need the next volume immediately.

John York was great. He has a pleasant voice and I could distinguish the characters well. He did a varied reading and brought the story to life.
