It’s the fifth book in the My Kinky Housemate series. While it can be read as a standalone, it’s better to read it as part of the series.
Trigger warning: one of the main characters is an alcoholic who has been sober for some time and was a victim of abuse in their youth.

Awakened Desires was a kinder, gentler Kinky Housemates story, but it fit Rory to a T! Rory has been the quiet, low key housemate and we knew that still waters ran deep, but to see the floodgates open when Callan came back into his life was amazing...
This book, while milder and sweeter on the kink side, deals with some heavy topics - being a recovering alcoholic, being a survivor of childhood sexual assault and post-partum depression, and does it in a non-shaming and healing way.
I love how Rory and Callan interact with each other and how the sensory play has the calming effect that Rory strives for as a gentle dom...
While this book is part of the series, it can easily be read alone if you want to read a story about reclaiming your sexuality after trauma, bisexual awakening and second chances with your childhood best friend and crush!

This was just beautiful. Full of hurt/comfort, reconnection and healing. Such a gentle and sweet story as Callan came to terms with his sexuality and an interest in kink. Rory was perfect with him and it was lovely to see the housemates with the baby.
A thank you has to go to the author for making the ex-girlfriend Niamh a fully 3 dimensional character. I felt for her, in those exhaustion filled days after a baby and having no support aside from Callan. There was no demonizing her for her choices. Just a lot of understanding and I think it was perfectly done.
