Oh this book is just perfect !! It’s effervescent, honest, charming and oh so perfectly sassy !!! Quite simply, this book is a pleasure to read and one I would actually buy a physical copy to add to my bookshelf.
The characters are a classic sunshine/grumpy pants pairing and the family members (and friends) add to this madness.
Set in Las Vegas (and in this case, whatever is happening there isn’t actually staying there !!!), we have the sunshiny, glass half full, naïve (but not really) nerdy guy who stumbles upon something he’s only imagined. Then there’s Mr Grumpy Pants and that grumpiness is really funny, but so sweet as well.
Honestly, it has the perfect blend of storyline – well paced, crazy, laugh out loud moments alongside the honest and emotional moments ….. with a touch of suspense and drama. And those brownies……freakin’ hilarious !!
I haven't laughed that much while reading a book for ages. Warning - drinking or eating whilst reading this book may be a choking hazard....bahahahahaha Ends with HFN and I seriously can’t wait for book # 2 !!

It's Not Unusual To Be Loved by an Alien had me hooked right from the start. It is a fun and enjoyable read that had me chuckling at all of the antics going on.
The author has created a wonderful cast of characters and a good plotline. I really enjoyed the banter between everyone.
River and Kai are good together and watching the relationship between the two grow made for a great read. River is just what Kai needs. His friendly and happy personality bring out the best in Kai.
Not only did I enjoy the main characters but many of the supporting characters made a strong impression. I am so glad that this is the first in a new series. I cannot wait to return to this world for more.

I couldn't stop laughing and smiling while reading this book, in the best way! This book was totally unique, from the plot, to the characters, to the background, to the secrets that are unknown to a certain someone. This was out of this world! *Wink wink*
I adored River, he was so quirky and hilarious, he could have his own comedy show! And poor sweet grumpy Kai isn't prepared for the whirlwind that is River. Aka is mate.
I really enjoyed how this was written, I have never read another story like this one before, it is completely unique. The writing I thought was good, sometimes I felt like some of the exaggerated remarks River had was too much at times but I still enjoyed reading this. My biggest pet peeves with this book is the fact that it end on a cliffhanger!! How could you do this to me?!? Now I have to wait to find out what happens now that the universes know who and what River is.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and am excited for the continuation!

Full of inventive and rich world-building with plenty of humour alongside, it was a page turner for sure.
A slow burn, but with plenty of heat when they get there. I loved how vulnerable Kai was and how accepting River could be when given the chance.
Some things weren't a surprise, but one bit literally had me going wtf? Didn't see that shocker.
I will absolutely be picking up book 2 because I need to see where this goes. I'm also emotionally invested in the great cast of characters.

What an utter delight!!! From the snark to the romance I loved just about everything about this book.
River is such a unique MC. I mean he's definitely weird, but he has such a kind and accepting heart. I don't blame Kai at all for falling for his exuberant charms. I just love a grumpy sunshine pairing and Kai is definitely the grumpy to Rivers sunshine.
On top of the romance, there is a criminal case the law enforcING agency of the Aliens are working on. I won't name them, the surprise is worth it! The side characters were also so rich and added a ton of fun to the storyline. Major props to Benji, the hilarious stoner uncle of River's. He was a hoot.
Book 2 in this series looks like it's going to continue with Kai and River as the MCs which makes sense as the ending was more of an HFN than an HEA. The plotline will likely also continue in book 2 as well. I will say, I am hoping that Kai's brother Mal gets his time to shine. The little teases we get of his potential love interest makes me have grabby hands for his story. I just want more of this world in general and can't wait to book 2!

It's Not Unusual To Be Loved By An Alien was a fun read! It was laugh out loud funny, a seriously good romcom!
The world building was great! River believes in aliens, he’s a sci-fi geek. River had so much sass! Kai the alien was a little more reserved. Shenanigans ensue when River’s memories cannot be wiped. But together they were so good, a great dynamic.
Overall, a seriously fun read, well written with great pacing! Highly recommend!
