Where they can pursue their dreams together in Getting Signed, the latest of the Model Love multi author series.

From the blurb:

Can a chance at making a dream come true give Jae something more—Xander?

Jae dreams of becoming a model in London. With five open call castings in a month, it feels like a sign, especially as one of those is for the agency he longs to get signed by—McKay’s Models. There’s one snag: he can’t afford to go to them.

In steps Xander. He hasn’t seen Jae in three years, but he’s happy to give his younger brother’s best friend a place to stay for a month. What he’s not expecting is the gorgeous man who takes his breath away at every turn.

When an act of kindness leads to a surprise kiss, will Jae end up with everything he’s ever dreamed of and more?

Getting Signed is a 50,000-word low-angst contemporary MM novel, with a friends-to-lovers romance between a make-up-loving wannabe model and his best friend’s brother. It’s part of the Model Love multi-author series. Each book can be read as a standalone, in any order, but there are so many models falling in love, why not read them all?

SNik's Review:

Part of a multi-author series (Model Love) but all are standalone stories. Best friend’s brother. POC representation. Quick read. Dual POV.

Jae wants the chance to be a model, so when his best friend’s brother gives him a place to stay to chase his dream he jumps, vowing his attraction to Xander won’t be a problem while they are living together.

Xander will do anything for his brother, and helping Jae is no hardship, Xander understands what it's like to try and follow your passion, after all he has worked hard to be a successful fitness streamer.

The simmer of attraction grows as Jae and Xander get to know each other again, Xander is supportive and generous, Jae is sunny and sweet. Both are likable characters, caring towards each other, passionate and committed to their dreams and of course have some steamy interactions.

A fun read with romantic dates and honest communication about their feelings quickly leading to love and a swoony HEA.

Heather's Review:

Getting Signed is a sweet, fairly low angst brother's best friend book that takes place in the Model Love world as Jae tries to break into the modeling world in London, while staying with his best friend's older brother at his beautiful London loft!

The book is equal parts sweet and steamy, with Xander offering encouragement, support and of course attraction!  Jae is such a sweet and sunny guy and so determined to model and Xander is someone who followed his own passions to create the life he wanted and mentors Jae.

The story was a pleasure to read and the characters are so adorable, honest and caring!  This book can easily be read standalone, but can also benefit from being read as part of the Model Love series.

Sarah C's Review:

I love a book about dreams coming true, and Colette Davison gives that to us with Getting Signed. Getting Signed is a little different than the other two books I've read in the Model Love universe so far, because at the start of the book, Jae isn't a model. He's an aspiring model hoping to get signed at one of the upcoming open casting calls. He especially is hoping to get signed by McKay Models - the agency that links this universe together. The problem, however, is that the casting calls are in London and he's in Leeds. The cost would be prohibitive and his parents aren't willing to help, given that they think he should pursue a more practical career choice.

The solution: stay with his best friend's hot older brother, the man Jae had a crush on for years. Jae is a bit hesitant, not only because of the high school crush but because he watches Xander's adult streaming platform and is a little embarassed by it. But in the end, the pursuit of a dream wins out and he ends up going to London.

The book takes place over the course of a month and highlights the time they spend living together, getting to know one another, and of course the ups and downs of Jae's casting calls. This framework lets us see a lot of who each of our MCs are and lets us see the ways they interact and connect - particularly over the fact that neither of their parents were supportive of their dreams but both took the risks anyway in hopes that it would pay off.

The chemistry between these two men was off the charts - both physical and romantic. They felt believable. There was enough angst about the parents and with Jae's worry about getting cast at one of the Open Calls that it gave the story actual stakes instead of being a pure slice of life.

The spice levels were good and I loved the added bit of concern with Jae's best friend/Xander's brother. It added just the right amount of stakes as well. I love a book with some decent stakes after all.

Like the other two Model Love books I've read, this is incredibly fluffy, has a nice dose of spice, and is well worth the read.
