P.S. I Loathe You by Isla Olsen

P.S. I Loathe You shows there's a fine line between love and hate.

From the blurb:

Wes

The worst thing my sister ever did was agree to marry Devon Montgomery.

The best thing she ever did was cancel the wedding two weeks out from the big day.

It’s not that I don’t like Devon. It’s that I hate him. I detest him. I loathe him.

And, for some reason, the feeling is mutual, although why anyone would hate someone as amazing as me is completely beyond my understanding.

Devon, on the other hand? He’s an overbearing, uptight, pretentious snob who wouldn’t know a good time if it bit him on the arse.

I mean, yes, he’s insanely attractive. And, yes, he’s been known to star in some particularly dirty fantasies of mine—ones of the hate-sex variety.

But that’s all it is.

Well, that’s all it was supposed to be…

Until I discover Devon has been having the exact same fantasies about me. Turns out he’s not so averse to fun after all…

P.S. I Loathe You is a stand-alone enemies to more, sister’s ex, online ‘bromance’, opposites attract romantic comedy with two swoon-worthy leads, quirky side characters, a ton of sexytimes, and a guaranteed HEA.

Jacquie's Review:

Basically I loved every second of this. Its one of those books you can just read in one sitting because you're having so much fun with it.

I really enjoyed that the trading of barbs continued even after they started sleeping together. Softer emotions do come into play but they don't alter how they are with each other that much.

It's a pretty fast burn for heat but slower burn for the feelings and that just worked for the characters.

P.S. I Loathe You won't be for you if you don't like it when characters insult each other or rile each other up.

SNik's Review:

Standalone. Frenemies to boyfrenemies. Sister’s ex. Slow burn. Opposites attract. Dual POV.

Devon doesn’t get along with his soon to be brother-in-law Wes, they actually kind of hate each other, and when the wedding is called off they are both relieved they never have to see each other again. However, Devon and Wes begin emailing each other unaware of the others identity and soon embark in a snarky, sarcastic, mocking dialogue and once they discover that they are online flirting with their annoying frenemy sparks fly and the attraction they have both been ignoring burns hot and constant.

Really entertaining back and forth between Wes and Devon and they do open themselves to communicating, some funny and supportive best friends, steamy scenes, and eventually some sweet and swoony declarations. Two characters whose love language includes teasing, annoying, and exasperating your partner which works for them.

One niggle is that Wes and Devon are supposed to be in their late 30’s and their behavior is a little immature, but it did not detract from the story for me. Sometimes your person is your match in unexpected ways and you can find a special kind of love.

Heather's Review:

Isla Olsen takes the age old "fine line between hate and love" line to give us a hilarious look at an enemies to lovers featuring a guy and his sister's recently ex-fiancĂ© and in a most delicious way!  I love that they figure things out at around the same time, but have completely different approaches to

This book was the one I needed to read after a hard day and a busy week - it was balanced between steam, snark and included some amazing hate sex that I was totally down for!  Have I mentioned the barbs and one liners?  Yeah, was totally down for that too...

If you're looking for an enemies to lovers, steamy read that doesn't take itself too seriously, I seriously recommend picking up P.S. I Loathe You by Isla Olsen
