Book Blogger Hop: Negative Reviews

Since I asked the question of my fellow book bloggers this week, I guess I should answer the question...

So my answer is yes, and no...  our team has a policy not to share reviews on the blog for books we cannot give positive reviews and at least 3.5 stars to, partly because we tag authors, PR companies we work with and other industry partners in our social media when we share our reviews and amplifying negativity doesn't make sense.  We voluntarily promote the genre and we want to share books that we can stand behind and honestly suggest that people read...

I personally do respectfully share my opinion on sites like Goodreads and Amazon with my honest reviews and ratings because I see the blog as sharing our recommendations and sites that collect reviews, especially Goodreads are for readers to get a rounded view of what a book may or may not do for them.

In terms of providing feedback, I do respectfully share key factors in our reviews with authors if they want feedback and we've even worked with authors who have added or changed something based on our feedback, which as a reader is a thrilling endeavour...

What about you?   How do you handle feedback and reviews for books you just don't like?
