His Pet (Broken Playthings Book 2) by Anna Svoboda

Pitch black story. Read the trigger warnings.

From the blurb:

When freedom is taken… and comfort comes from the one who took it.

Justin

I’ve always done what I was supposed to do. Be good. Be quiet. Be normal.

It never worked. Not for my family. Not for my father. Not in a world where I was always the wrong kind of son.

Then I meet a man who puts a knife to my throat… and something inside me responds.

I should be terrified. Instead, I can’t stop thinking about it.

And then I wake up in a cage. Kidnapped. Owned. Stripped of every choice I’ve ever had.

I’m supposed to hate him.

So why is he the first person who’s ever made me feel… right?

Cameron

I don’t keep people. I’ve tried, but they always break. Go empty. Useless. I don’t want that again.

Then Mikhail brings me Justin.

Soft. Nervous. Watching me like I’m something to fear… and something to want.

He shouldn’t survive this world, but I want him anyway. I tell myself I’ll do it differently this time. That I won’t ruin him.

I still put him in a cage. Still take his choices. Still make him mine.

And when he looks at me like I’m the only thing keeping him together… I realize I’m not going to lose this one.

Not to the world.

Not to himself.

He was taken. So why does he feel safer staying?

His Pet is a pitch-black MM romance featuring a dominant, morally irredeemable hero, a captive who finds comfort where he shouldn’t, and a relationship built on control, dependency, and dangerous tenderness. Featuring captivity, power imbalance, identity conflict, and a love story that blurs the line between protection and possession. Not for the faint of heart. HEA guaranteed.

Thera's review:

I kept reading this book cuz I needed to find out how it ended. It was dark. Very dark. There were things I liked and things I disliked. I didn't like the sharing because it didn't really seem like a thing Cameron would do. He was too possessive. I also wish Justin had told Cameron he loved him. Neither character is very redeemable but their relationship works for them and I suppose that's what matters. The book was very well written and I enjoyed it enough to finish it. And enough to look at the authors other works. Just be prepared.
