The second volume was longer and I liked it even more than the first one.

"Rick: Love at the Haven" is the second installment in the “Love at the Haven” series. The author’s writing style captivates readers with its well-crafted setting and biting humor.

Rick inherits “The Haven” hotel from his aunt. He doesn’t want to give up the run-down hotel, but he has to fight hard to keep it. A number of interesting escorts have used the hotel so far, and Rick allows them to continue doing so. That’s how he meets Eliot, who finally works up the courage to explore his attraction to men and heads straight to the hotel without an appointment. Unfortunately, he mistakes Rick for an escort, and Rick plays along because he’s drawn to him.

The two of them are really cute together, but also incredibly hot. I liked how the relationship developed, because there were quite a few hurdles to overcome. But the other escorts are interesting too, and I liked how close-knit they were.

I found both Eliot and Rick likable; the story was engaging and kept me well entertained. This volume was longer than the first one, and I actually liked it a little better than the first volume. I’m already looking forward to more volumes in this series.

Dan Calley narrated the audiobook, and he portrayed Rick and Eliot quite well. He did a great job narrating; the emotions were palpable, and he brought the story to life. Sometimes I had a little trouble telling the two protagonists apart, but the context usually made it clear pretty quickly.
