"Cursed" is the eighth volume in the paranormal "Witchbane" series, which I recommend reading in order.
The writing style is good, and the story is told alternately from the perspectives of the two protagonists.
Evan and Seth are on their way to their next mission. The two are on the hunt for the next witch-disciple they’ve tracked down. The trail of Sterling Vernon they’re following leads them to Savannah.
As in the previous books, readers accompany a couple they’ve come to love on their latest adventures. But even after seven previous books, I’m still on the edge of my seat as they battle evil. And of course, there’s no shortage of support from both familiar characters and new ones they’re just getting to know. And it’s not just the enemies who are learning to protect themselves better—the hunters, too, have to keep learning more and more.
I, for one, love the range of diverse protagonists as well as the loving relationship and open communication between Seth and Evan.
And this time, Morgan Brice impresses with a somewhat unexpected—but by no means uninteresting—plot twist that I really enjoyed.
As always, Kale Williams’s narration is absolutely outstanding. He gives the protagonists fitting voices, reads with variety, conveys emotions fantastically, and maintains a very high level of suspense throughout.
