Thiago is a protection specialist contracted to a famous New Orleans conductor as he prepares a special performance. Luca is Dominic’s assistant and has special insight into all of his inner circle, and ends up working closely with Thiago to protect his employer.
This author has an interesting writing style that is like a complicated shorthand that is interesting and keeps you on your toes. The connection between Luca and Thiago is immediate and builds, both men incredibly competent and savvy when it comes to people and their jobs. I enjoyed when Luca and Thiago were on page together, and would have liked a little more background on them, but getting to hear about their families and some history was good enough. Even though the bad guy is revealed early, the suspense was still intriguing and the way Luca and Thiago work together while also becoming closed was entertaining.
