Henley grew up in a monster hunter family but doesn't want to take apart so he runs and joins the monster network to find facts from fiction to protect the innocents. Blade (Blaine) was wronged in the 50s and trapped in a form until Henley happens to "find" him. Henley is a beautifully neurotic mess who helps Blaine into the modern century in the only way he knows how with the internet. Blaine is so understanding and accepting of his nee life and helps Henley navigate what is their new normal. Shaw takes a unique approach on this cryptid series and shows another side to this universe. LOVED the BDSM dynamics brought in, showing the author has a knowledge of the lifestyle in their understanding and showing these two navigate their dynamics. The story has the right balance of humor, heat and suspense sprinkled in.
