Feeding My Protector (Piper Falls Paramedics - Book 3) by Alex J. Adams

FEEDING MY PROTECTOR is a part of the Piper Falls Paramedics combined universe. When I grabbed this book, I looked forward to the small town romance and the grumpy/sunshine trope. What I wasn’t expecting was a whole bundle of emotions! We jumped from guilt to forgiveness and lust to love. Honestly, I should have known it would be as it was written by Alex J. Adams.

From the blurb:

Teddy

Texas was my adopted home. My parents said I’d hate it, but how wrong they’d been. The moment I’d stepped off the plane, I’d fallen in love with the place.
The people, the culture. Hell, even the weather. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.
But there was always that one thing missing.
Love.
I’d tried dating apps. Kissed a fair few frogs but never seemed to find my prince.
Then a stupid accident at my food truck brought him to me, and as usual, nothing went right.
We became friends. Lovers… behind closed doors.
I hadn’t moved here to hide in the shadows. Things needed to change, but how much was he willing to give up?
Only time would tell.

Drew
Secrets and lies. I was tired of them and when I met Teddy, I knew something had to change.
But my family had expectations. Expectations I couldn’t fulfil, and with Momma’s health failing, I wouldn’t be the one to let her down.
So, why was I the one suffering? Why couldn’t I step up to the plate and admit who I was? Not just for me, but for Teddy, too.
I couldn’t blame him for wanting to leave, to step out of the shadows.
But was I willing to give everything up to be with the man I loved?
Only time would tell.

Feeding My Protector is a small town MM story featuring a happy-go-lucky food truck owner who meets and falls for the moody paramedic. TW for terminal illness of a family member. HEA guaranteed.

Molly Otto's review:

Teddy is one of those characteristics you instantly fall for hard, then you have Drew. Not so much with Drew, but with time and understanding like Teddy you learn to appreciate and love him. I am not going to sugarcoat it, this one took me a hot minute to get into, because I couldn’t connect with Drew, however he does redeem himself in time, and shows he is a great partner for Teddy. With all that I didn’t like about Drew, I appreciated he made sure Teddy was fully aware of the entire situation before beginning anything with him, it showed even when he was being not likeable, he was still being respectable, that is honestly what kept me wanting to read and see how these two could make a go of things. Once the heat starts oh boy, you are not ready for chemistry, some of Alex’s best heat to date. Overall, an enjoyable worthwhile read once you are in you are fully in.

Lori C's review:

Teddy is a food truck owner from England. He spent summers at camps in the US and then decided to settle in Piper Falls permanently. He’s just a man looking for his Prince Charming and in walks Drew Garcia. I don’t want to spoil the twists and turns of their story. I must say that I would have read this so much quicker if it hadn’t been for a migraine. It is so good that I read the first 55% in one go. This book brings us to the small town of Piper Falls and all its wonderful people. I loved Drew and Teddy’s story. There were so many parts I snapped for my stories on Instagram. I teared up more than once and sobbed at another point. It is a beautiful book and now I want to read more of this series. What else is coming to Piper Falls?
