Cielo is hands down my favorite character in this series so far. When he was introduced as a side character in the first book, Suck, I was enamored by him then and I am even more so now that I got to read his book!
From the blurb:
When portals from another world split open the sky, humanity braces for war… only to discover the monsters from Erethar aren’t here to conquer. They need something from humans. Something oddly specific in order to survive.
And I’ve spent the last few years working at my little shop and doing my part to help humanity by donating what the monsters crave.
But everything turns upside down the day I get a call from a friend saying an injured, banished Vyastil is looking for sanctuary.
He’s nothing like the others I’ve met. Cielo is a soft and tender monster whose punishment doesn’t fit his crime. And unfortunately, as much as I try to help by feeding him what his body needs, he doesn’t believe he’s worthy of taking it.
I want to teach him that everything he grew up knowing about humans is wrong, and that maybe his people would be a lot less repressed if they allowed themselves the one thing humans indulge in.
But the moment Cielo gives in and tastes me is the moment it no longer becomes about what his body wants.
It’s now about who we are to each other, and what fate has in store for both our future, and the future of monsterkind.
My name is Dante, and I’m working to save Vyastil society by showing them that the pleasures of the flesh can be theirs, if they only allow themselves to take it.
You’re welcome, Erethar.
Taste is the second book in the MM Monster Romance series Feed and Feast. It contains a sex shop worker who just wants a little peace, a naïve, kind monster who has no idea how much he’s worthy of being loved, sucking, tasting, friends to lovers, touch and affection starved cinnamon rolls, body piercings as a love language, secret rescue missions, and a toe-curling, swoony, happily ever after.
Angel's review:
He is honestly such a sweetheart, he has such a big heart, well, hearts, and he cares deeply about those he cares about and is just adorable! I loved how passionate he was about coffee and about being there for Dante, along with rescuing an opossum! I mean, talk about cute! I just adore him so much and it breaks my heart that he went through so much pain and loss but I an so happy that he found a new home and was able to form a family where he had to start over.
Dante is just as fabulous as Cielo just in a different way. He also cares fiercely about those he loves and tries to be there for them in whatever way they need. Him having chronic pain, and having flares is something I can relate to extremely well. I think these authors did a really great job at depicting something that people deal with in real life in a respectful way while also staying true to their unique world. Major kudos for that!
The chemistry between these two was dynamic and unavoidable. I feel as though with Everest and Rath, their romance was more steam focused whereas Cielo and Dante's story had more relationship building which I really loved seeing. The scene where they went on a date to the movie theater made me smile! And when Dante's mom gave Cielo socks she made?!? I wanted to 'aww' out loud.
I think this book is fabulous and I think Cora and EM did a good job with writing such a lovely stories with amazing characters while also setting the scene for the next book. (Which I'm really looking forward to! I'm excited to see what Luca's story is like!)
Taste is currently available as an e-book and can be read as part of your Kindle Unlimited Subscription
