Broken Prince of Ice (Forgotten Gods Book 1) by Jocelynn Drake

A new fantasy series spin-off from Jocelynn Drake's Godstone Saga. Adventure abounds with humans once again mixing with gods and two main couples that are trying to stop a new destructive evilness.

From the blurb:

Prince Shey is missing.

Erya royal guard Adrian Westergren is “forced” to team up with amorous but annoying dragon Haru to find the lost prince as a favor to the queen of Caspagir.

Adrian was confident Prince Shey had gone off to pout while his ex-boyfriend Rayne got married.

What he found was a twisted conspiracy deep in the heart of Damardor, in which innocent people were being stolen off the streets and disappeared permanently.

There’s a good chance they’ve kidnapped Prince Shey too, along with something much more dangerous.

Nightmares are about to be unleashed that the world has not experienced in centuries.

Adrian and Haru are in a race against time to save Shey, while Adrian fights to protect his heart from a dragon he wants more than anything in the world.

Broken Prince of Ice is the first book in the Forgotten Gods trilogy. This spin-off from the Godstone Saga will include hidden royalty, gods, magic, secrets, danger, angst, forbidden romance, slow-burn romance, friend to lovers, two romantic couples, and a furious fight to keep the world from burning.

SNik's review:

First in series (Forgotten Gods). Spin-off from the Godstone Saga series. Fantasy. Found family. Multiple POV’s.

With a devoted dragon by his side, royal bodyguard Adrian is sent by his king to find their mutual friend, Prince Shey. But Shey is captured investigating missing magical people and finds an unlikely ally in a fellow captive.

A new set of couples and another action packed adventure set in the world of Thia first introduced in the Godstone Saga. All the main characters are interesting, and you do get a good description of their backgrounds and motivations. I was super invested in their mission, loyalty, strong sense of morality, and how they interact with each other was so entertaining. Adrian and Haru are further along in their budding relationship, and the possessive dragon with the capable magically blessed human were so fun to read. With Shey and Tyche we really see the beginning of a friendship that has romantic interest as a possibility and I look forward to seeing them grow together as the series continues. Absolutely compelling story and writing, with characters to root for, plenty of action, this was a fantastic start to a new series.
