NOT SO LAZY BOY is a recliner shifter sweet fated mates romance. Quite possibly the strangest book I have ever read, and I mean that in a good way!
From the blurb:
Yes, I made a mistake, a really big one, but how long should I have to pay for it?
I mean, come on, being cursed to stay in my shifted form until my fated mate stumbles upon me? I wish there was another way to pay but when you do the crime, I guess you have to do the time.
Until then, I’ll be sitting here, a mustard yellow recliner that’s seen better days, a relic from decades past. My mate is out there, somewhere...I think... I hope.
But with each day that passes, it just doesn’t seem likely.
Angel's review:
I have to say that when I saw Stormi teasing this book I was a little skeptical.. I mean a book about a recliner shifter? I wasn't sure how that was going to come together but I knew I had to read it regardless of being skeptical.
I had no reason to be skeptical, it was amazing! Albeit a little odd, but the characters themselves were great and I loved how unique this story is! I have never read a book anything like this one before and I adore how Stormi just went with their creativity and created something special and unique.
While Cade spend the beginning of this book in his shifter form, we get an insight look into his perspective as this book has Dual POV's! Which I really think came in handy in this story because we got to see what both of these characters were thinking/feeling. That not only helped understand the characters better but it also helped provide an extra depth to the story seeing both of these men falling in love with each other in different ways.
I really liked how Maverick is a pastry chef, I have always loved reading about characters who are bakers/pastry chefs, and the aspect was written so well!! Plus, I also adored how Cade was so determined to learn and catch up on the world he has had to miss out on all those years. He's absolutely precious!
All in all, I really enjoyed reading this! The writing was great, the storytelling component flowed smoothly, the characters were all fantastic, well, except Walt of course. And it was just a fun book to read.
Molly Otto's review:
Okay let's start this one off by saying if you are looking for a pallet cleanser of a book, this is the one for you. It is just that right blend a quirkily sweet that you cannot help but fall hard for Maverick & Cade. The story is so unquestionably unique, I mean a recliner shifter for petes sake, and yet still a comfort read at its core. You have Cade who undoubtedly made the huge mistake of causing a pair to be separated, so is cursed to stay in his shifted form until he finds his fated mate. Maverick is a sweet soul who just rolls with all the punches that land his way that you can't help but admire about him. Overall a fun quick read when looking for something quick and sweet to read.
