Angel's review:

I'm a huge fan of Davidson King, she's such a sweet person who I adore, and her books are always spectacular in different ways.

This book hit me right in the feels, knowing what inspired the author to write Sam's story made this so much more impactful to me. That and I've also watched a loved one go through all of what Sam went through, cancer is.. awful, destructive, brutal, and a thief. It robs you of certain parts of yourself and can steal your joy, just when you start to relax and enjoy life, bam! A test comes back with bad results.

I don't want to talk about potential spoilers, I'll leave that for other readers to find out on their own, but I WILL talk about how much I love Sam and Lukas together. Sam is bubbly, as happy as he can be, and is determined to know the mean man who comes in for simple ice cream orders, whereas Lukas is gloomy, moody, grumpy and tried to actively avoid people if he can. However, he quickly learns Sam cannot be avoided, and soon he succumbs to Sam's charm!

I liked the romance between these two and how their relationship was portrayed. It was more of a slow burn, which I liked and it also makes sense seeing as how Sam had to put in effort to get Lukas to accept his company. I also really appreciate the rawness and realness of certain aspects that are discussed within the story; cancer, multiple blood tests, scans, food sensitivities, etc.. These were written in a very respectful way and real way, and I commend Davidson King for writing something so heartbreakingly beautiful.

Both of these men were marked for death in two different ways, but together they find a way to continue their lives, and live it to their fullest.
