Can you really count yourself lucky when a mass murderer becomes your rescuer? Maybe if you kind of like the idea of offering yourself up in order to survive, and maybe if you can get him to fall for you instead of killing you.
From the blurb:
Streeter
A jackass and a twink walk into a general store. Which one pisses off the psychopath? Which one brings out my true nature?
When I moved to Devil’s Point, I wanted to leave my old life behind, become someone new. But it seems like my old life isn’t done with me yet. A customer dances on my last nerve and a song I despise pushes me over the edge. I’m out for blood. Their blood. What I get in return is so much more. I sate my bloodlust, and get a hummingbird for my troubles.
Remington
It’s perfectly normal to feel a little infatuated with someone when they save your life, right? Never mind that Streeter saved me by killing a room full of people. I’m willing to ignore that he’s a psychopath.
Especially since it feels so good when he touches me. When—for the first time in my life—I feel like someone actually sees me. I’m just not sure if he sees me as something temporary to keep him warm, or if he wants to keep me after the snowstorm ends.
Murder Under the Mistletoe is an M/M Dual POV fast-burn slasher romance with high heat, an over-the-top serial killer, and a soft cinnamon roll who can’t help but want him.
You won’t want to miss this multi-author series. Because all dark love stories start with murder and mayhem.
SNik's review:
Part of a multi-author series (The Naughty List), but can be read as a standalone. Forced proximity. Quick read. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.
Streeter is working at the general store when he has a run in with a couple that triggers his last nerve (the holiday music already has him on edge) and causes him to seek them out to kill them. However, when Streeter comes calling, he ends up saving Remington from a horrible assault and finds that Remington will do just about anything as a thanks and to avoid dying himself.
This was a really entertaining story with some graphic murder and an unhinged killer that pauses in his spree when offered up a pretty prize. I appreciated that luckily the snowstorm that traps Remi and Streeter together lets them expand beyond the slight non-con as they get to know each other and learn they have a lot in common, as long as Remi can overlook Streeter’s murderous tendencies. Red flags abound, and maybe Remi is a little unhinged himself as he falls for Streeter, but it turns out alright since Streeter becomes just as enamoured with Remi.
