The Vampire's Delicious Fae (Brinnswick: Tales from Gauhala, Book 2) by Michele Notaro; Narrated by Zachary Zaba

THE VAMPIRES DELICIOUS FAE was brought to audio from Zachary Zaba. After a scorching chance meeting two years ago, Anton know he has to try again with his viramore Keryth and win the man back to his side. But as they agree to try again, they are surrounded by danger to themselves and their families that they have to fight to protect as their fragile bond grows.

From the blurb:

I hate vampires. Well, just one in particular. But I do kinda love how his eyes follow me whenever he’s around… Sigh.

Step One: Find a hot vampire. Check.

Step Two: Get the hot vamp to drink from me. Check.

Step Three: Try to forget his stupid face. Ugh. This one’s impossible to check. F my life. Sigh.

Anton is beyond frustrating. He was so sweet when we first met, and I’d thought we had a real connection. But then he had to ruin everything with his big mouth and jerky face. Ugh.

I can’t get him out of my head. Even when I’m beyond angry at him, I still feel a pull to be near him. A pull I can’t seem to ignore.

And when my entire world gets turned upside-down, I can’t help but reach for the ancient vampire and hope that together, we can conquer anything that’s thrown at us… anything that’s coming for us.

The Vampire’s Delicious Fae is Book 2 of the MM urban fantasy series, Brinnswick: Tales from Gauhala. It follows a new couple in each book with a guaranteed HEA. It takes place in the Brinnswick world in the far away country of Gauhala and brings a whole new cast of characters, so you don’t need to listen the other series first. But don't worry, there will absolutely be some cameos along the way.

SNik's review:

Audio. Second in series (Brinnswick: Tales from Gauhala), best if read in order. Paranormal urban fantasy. Second chance. Hurt/comfort. Soulmates. Found family. Slow burn. Dual POV.

A misunderstanding between nature fae Keryth and ancient vampire Anton keeps them apart for two years after a scorching first meeting. As danger surrounds them they agree to slowly build a relationship based on their viramore connection, readily combining their families to create a large loving household.

These two finally clearing the air and committing to the protection and caring of their family members was such a great read. Notaro’s characters always have such a depth of love and acceptance and ability to demonstrate that love it always makes for a beautiful read. I really enjoyed Anton and Keryth together as they both have strong abilities and senses of good, and would have liked to see more of their individual personalities beyond caretakers as they fell in love. This series is full of cameos and true found families, loyalty, and love.

The narration was good and brought forth the emotions of the writing.

Molly Otto's review:

Zachary Zaba was brought on for the lastes audio of this series and does beautifully picking up where Micheal Lesley left us. He does brilliantly in showing the different characters and their personalities. You don't lose your place while listening but instead and brought deeper into the story.

Ugh have been wondering what was up with Ker and Anton since their interaction at the party, now it makes so much more sense! These two needed to have a real talk for so long but stubborness made both suffer longer than necessary yet when they allow each other in magical. Absolutely love how these two accept each other's kids and make them all feel welcome in this growing family. With danger on the horizon, they need to move the relationship faster than planned yet they take their time to grow their bond. Their slow burn to more made a sweet story more beautiful just feeling the bond grow with time and patience. Seeing Oakley and Roman up next makes my heart so happy, you can feel their spark with each interaction. Another beautiful addition to a great universe.
