A former bully needs to be done correctly for me to forgive and understand how the two people can end up together. I am happy to say Jem does that and so much more in this story. Reece has lived in England the last twenty years, and when his high school reunion comes up he knows it is time to make amends for his past shame. Holden has stayed in Gomillion running his yarn shop and when his high school reunion comes about, with the encouragement of his best friends decides to face his past bully should he return. Reece makes mistakes in apologizing, not seeing how it was for him and not Holden. But oh boy when he bears his soul in the right way magic. Allowing their past to be in past but understanding they cannot repeat it helps these two flourishes and begin a trans-Atlantic relationship. The way these two men will do anything for the other is evident once they are able to just be. You can see why Holden was able to move past the pain, when Reece is so openly caring for him.
Another great addition to this uniquely different series. The common thread of the reunion holds the series together, yet he way each author has stood to who they are as a writer is what makes each of these books so great in their own unique way. It is apparent to the readers there was open communication in how the reunion played out to hold the universe together.

I love a good bully redemption story and Reece's is chef's kiss! So many times bullying is rooted in fear or self-loathing and Reece's bullying definitely had these elements... I love that Holden is resistant but hopeful to Reece's overtures and the reunion backdrop is a great foil for righting past wrongs and stirring up long buried feelings! I really enjoyed getting to know these two men and watching their romance bloom when they get their second chance...
