JP Sayle and Lisa Oliver make a GREAT writing team! This new series is full of laughter and is a joy to read.
From the blurb:
When Morty and Hector can’t say no to their friends' encouragement to attend a Bucket List Buddies event, they discover Fate is on their side. But will that be enough to thwart an interfering mother who always knows best?
Hector just wants a quiet life where he gets to decide whom he’ll mate with. Unfortunately, his mother has other ideas, ones that don’t involve Hector being gay.
Then Fate steps in.
Except it's more a case of Hector's fated mate stepping on his toes. Once Hector claims Morty, he must do what he’s never done in his life—stand up to his mother.
Morty—the clumsiest meerkat who ever lived—runs a small café with his two friends. When he's encouraged to go to an old-fashioned dance—except forced is a much better description—Morty literally steps on his mate. And when Morty's enthusiasm reaches an all-time high, things go a little awry. Okay, maybe a little is an understatement.
Can the two mates survive Morty’s clumsiness and Hector’s mother? We’re about to find out.
Perilous Cuties is book 1 in the Bucket List Buddies Series, where our buddies are about to discover fun and friendship—and a whole lot more.
Lori C's review:
I really like shifter romance. The Bucket List Buddies books are all about meeting new people and making friends. Remy is in charge of setting everything up and making the magic happen for everyone else. To me, Remy is the best behind the scenes character I’ve read lately. He is charge without being the boss and I can’t wait for him to get his own story.
For Perilous Cutie, Morty, a meerkat, and Hector, a warthog, are the main characters. Morty is a baker who makes yummy desserts. He is also a horrible dancer being dragged to a bucket list event with his best friends. Hector is an auditor with a controlling mother who refuses to acknowledge that her son is gay and will never marry a woman. His friends are wonderful and Lionel is calling in a marker and making Hector attend an even with him and Ian. Oh these two are quite the match!
I inhaled the is book!! Maybe because I read book two first and wanted to see what I missed. Either way, I literally couldn’t put it down. It is so entertaining. I loved how willing Morty was to try and save Hector’s relationship with his domineering mother. I cheered when Hector’s father put his foot down to welcome Morty to the family. This book had all the elements I needed for a great read: laughter, joy, friendship, happiness. Now I would like to respectfully request book three as soon as possible. I need to know who is going to find their mate next. Will it be Remy or one of our already established characters?
Perilous Cutie is currently available as an e-book and paperback
