Does garlic really keep vampires away? Axel isn't sure, but his neighbor is so handsome and charming he forgets all about wanting to stake him and possibly wanting to keep him?
From the blurb:
Axel’s world turns upside down when a vampire moves in next door, and he catches the monster mid-feed. He scrambles to protect himself, but the vampire is unexpectedly charming.
Is his good-natured smile part of his hunting technique? Axel fears he might die for a pretty face.

I Think I Found a Vampire is an 8,000 word MM paranormal romance stand alone short story featuring a nervous human with a sense of humor, a hot vampire, and way too much garlic. This story is set in the Shearwater Landing world and is perfect for new and familiar readers alike. HEA guaranteed!
I Think I Found a Vampire first appeared in the RARE Melbourne 2025 paperback anthology. Minor changes have been made, otherwise the overall story remains the same.
SNik's review:
Standalone short. Paranormal. Single POV. Heed content warnings.
His new neighbor is definitely a vampire, Axel is 90% positive, 100% frightened. But when he meets Charles, he’s so kind and handsome and he’s a gamer like Axel, and Axel’s cat loves him so he can’t be that bad, right? This story is hilarious and cute, and there’s never a hint of danger even if Axel is worried because Charles wants to date not to bite. I enjoyed Axel’s attempts to protect himself, while fully giving in to Charle’s charm and I’m happy he accepted the supernatural easily and quickly. This was such a funny and sweet story set in Rivera’s Shearwater Landing universe, but it’s not necessary to do any previous reading to enjoy. A definite recommended reading for a short escape.
