Finding Home in Comfort (Saddle Up) by Kerry Kilpatrick

Hank has a new neighbor that is sparkly, joyful and so sexy, busy getting a B&B business off the ground. Jasper can't get distracted by the man he thinks might be a great Daddy, but with Hank's support it seems Jasper can do just about anything.

From the blurb:

Hank’s world is all routines and exotic animals—until a city boy shows up with too many ideas and zero goat sense.

Hank
My life is quiet, steady, and exactly how I like it. I run an exotic animal ranch on the edge of Comfort, Texas, mind my own business, and keep my heart tucked away where it can’t cause trouble. I’ve never wanted to take care of anyone—and I’ve been fine with that. Relationships can wait. Maybe forever. Then Jasper Greer shows up in a too-loud car with too-bright energy and a head full of plans. He’s a walking complication… and I can’t seem to stop thinking about him.

Jasper
I came to Comfort to turn my third cousin twice-removed’s house into a queer-friendly B&B and prove I can follow through on something that actually matters. I’ve always been about the good time, but Hank? The second I meet him, I know. He’s my Daddy—even if he doesn’t see it yet. And just because I’m a boy doesn’t mean I’m any good at letting someone take care of me. But with Hank? I want to try.

A low-angst Daddy/boy MM romance set on a Texas ranch with small-town charm, found family, and a boy who knows exactly who his Daddy is.

SNik's review:

Part of a multi-author series (Saddle Up), but can be read as a standalone. Small town. Daddy/boy. Side representation. Dual POV.

Inheriting a house in Comfort, Texas, Jasper has plans to turn it into a B&B, not expecting the ranch owner next door to be the Daddy he’s wished for. Hank doesn’t know how to be a Daddy, but for Jasper he’s willing to try because making Jasper happy seems to be the key to making Hank’s heart sing.

This was a low angst story with two men that see all kinds of possibilities whenever they are together. Hank is super sweet and even as he makes a couple of stumbles learning to be Jasper’s Daddy, he is determined to do and be his best which is swoony. Jasper has to overcome a lot of his own self doubts and family pressure, but he’s so earnest and hardworking that it’s easy to root for him to get everything he dreams of. A cute story with two likable characters and a supportive small town.

Heather's Review:

Low angst Daddy/little romance with a ton of cute creatures?  Check.  Adorable older gay couple who are like family? Check.  A new business to get up and running? Check!  The perfect weekend escape read - Double check!

This book was a quick and delightful read and despite the shortish timeline of the book, a perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon!  If you need a sweet and sassy little, a grumpy daddy and a small town with a great cast of side characters, you should definitely add this book toyour tbf.
