From the blurb:
Frustration shouldn’t feel this good.
Onyx doesn’t need anyone, least of all a mate. He certainly doesn’t need his demon brothers, but can’t seem to get rid of them or their task of helping the magic world adjust to demonkind’s return to the Human Realm.
What’s worse than that? The most annoying, do-gooder witch won’t leave Onyx alone.
Nico VelΓ‘zquez may have discovered demons in Shearwater Landing by accident, but he’s committed to ensuring a peaceful transition for everyone. Especially if it means working with Onyx.
Onyx is beautiful. Terrifying. Bratty.
Nico can’t get him out of his head. Onyx needs someone to be firm with him. Someone who shows up for him, and Nico would love to break through his prickly exterior and take charge of the demon hiding beneath.
Onyx doesn’t understand why Nico cares. Why does hating Nico feel so good? No one’s ever captivated Onyx like Nico. It’s maddening. If it weren’t for all the wrong reasons, Onyx might think Nico was his mate.

Demon’s Desire is book three in the Lovers of the Damned series, with each book featuring a different couple. This fated mate MM paranormal romance ends in a HEA, and while the romance stands alone, this series is best read in order due to an overarching plot. Content warnings can be found using the look inside feature and on the author’s website.

Nico had quite the struggle on his hands to capture Onyx's heart, but he was one determined witch. Onyx didn't make it easy for Nico either. He fought hard, especially when he realized his own feelings were growing for the man. Onyx had been hurt too many times in the past by people who were supposed to care about him, so you could understand why he was so reluctant to give his heart away. Thankfully, after discovering their mutual kinks lined up perfectly, Nico was able convince Onyx to be his in much more satisfying ways than arguing.

While Nico and Onyx are navigating their growing bond, they also have to spend time working with the vampires to handle the little demon exodus which happened at the end of the last book. Of course Lucifer also has to pop up and throw more chaos into the ring. I don't know if I trust that man one bit, but I definitely softened on him a smidge by the end, which is good because Lucifer's book is next.
Back to Onyx and Nico. It was a bumpy road to their HEA, but I am glad they got where they needed to be. Their relationship isn't exactly conventional, which the author does put in the foreword of the book. Though they are mates and remain committed to each other romantically for the inevitable future, they also have an agreement which includes playing with others. Boundaries are set and both MCs are thrilled with the arrangement which is all I want in my romance. And ending where both characters are happy and content.
SNik's review:
Third in series (Lovers of the Damned), best if read in order. Paranormal. Fated mates. Light BDSM. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

To Onyx it seems like his brothers only contact him when they need something, and he’s trying to forge something between himself with their new mates while the witch Nico hovers. Nico feels some kind of pull to Onyx, maybe Onyx just needs a friend or maybe something else, but Nico wants to give it to him.
Being in each other's orbits allows Nico to peer beneath the bluster and walls that Onyx throws up, and fortunately Onyx slowly allows Nico to comfort him in ways he’s never allowed anyone to before. The push and pull between these two was so fun to read, Onyx is never hurtful and Nico never gives up as they banter their way into a tentative relationship. The turning point in their closeness came abruptly, I wish they had more communication between them, but I did enjoy how in tune Nico was to Onyx. This series is super entertaining, and even fated mates have to trust and learn to love and those parts are well done.
