A life forgotten. A love so encompassing you don't want to survive without it. Two hockey players with a love so strong nothing can stand in the way.
From the blurb:
One hit on the ice.
One missing year.
One man I can’t let go.
When I wake up, the last twelve months of my life are gone. I don’t know what team I’m on, how I got here… or why there’s a gorgeous man in my bed calling me babe.
A year ago, I was barely hanging on to my career and too scared to admit I wanted a man. Now, I may not remember falling for him, but when he smiles, when he touches me, when he kisses me—I know it. He’s everything.
And somehow, I have the life I always dreamed of: a thriving career, a man who loves me, and a championship within reach.
The only problem? I can’t remember how I made any of it happen.
If I want to keep this perfect life, I’ll have to hide the truth until everything comes back. Because I can’t lose this. And most of all, I can’t lose him.
How hard can it be to live my own life without remembering it?
Fake it ’til you make it, right?
Wrong. So wrong.
SNik's review:
Standalone. Amnesia. Teammates. Hurt/comfort. Single POV.
Waking up to a dream life, Torey can’t remember the past year, doesn’t remember his new team, his best friend and doesn’t remember falling in love with the team captain. Blair is everything Torey had ever hoped for, and they are living a fairy tale life playing hockey together and loving deeply. But, as hard as Torey grabs hold maybe it’s not meant to be.
This book is full of powerfully emotional prose, pure Tal Bauer as the story heartbreaking and overflowing with yearning and the kind of love you only dream of. Sometimes with single POV it can be hard to connect with both characters, however, there is so much depth to Torey’s feelings, and luckily Blair’s honest communication about his feelings are clear. This is a super long book, with a bit of the mystical, lot’s of hockey, great secondary characters, and two main characters that feel like soulmates and believe that they are meant for each other. Blair and Torey are breathtaking together, pure romance.
