Offside Play (Love the Game) by Becca Steele

A one off hookup that turns into more. Visiting his brother in another country, Jude plans to indulge his bisexual side, but meeting Cody has him wanting more than just sex. But they both are professional athletes, neither of them are out, and they live an ocean apart, how can it work?

From the blurb:

From USA Today bestselling author Becca Steele comes a new standalone MM sports romance set in the Love the Game universe.

When my Premier League season comes to an abrupt end thanks to an injury and subsequent transfer to another team, I decide to surprise my brother by flying out to Canada to catch him in the NHL playoffs.

I never planned on sleeping with a man for the first time on my very first day in Calgary. A man who turns out to be my brother’s grumpy, antisocial teammate.

I never planned for it to happen again.
And again.

We’re professional athletes. His life is in Canada and mine is in the UK.
I know there’s no future for us. So why can’t I make myself stay away from him?

Love the Game is an MM sports romance shared world, and features books from Willow Thomas, Becca Steele, Jodi Oliver, EM Denning, Becca Seymour, Becca Jackson, EM Lindsey, and Cora Rose.

SNik's review:

Part of a multi-author series (Love the Game), but can be read as a standalone. Brother’s teammate. Grumpy/sunshine. Secret relationship. Jock/jock. Found family. Dual POV.

Wanting to start his bisexual journey while on break from the premier football league with an injury, Jude visits his brother in Canada and has a smoking hot one night stand. Pro hockey player Cody wasn’t expecting his hookup to show up at his practice, and tries to stay away from his teammates brother, but there’s something about Jude that makes Cody want to break all his rules about keeping everyone at a distance.

This story is a sports romance with a quick fall between two men that can’t deny their chemistry, all kinds of interesting secondary characters, and the impossibility of making a relationship work while living separated by an ocean. There were times during this story that I teared up at the strong feelings and yearning between Cody and Jude. Overall a really sweet story with two likable characters to root for and a glimpse at their HEA.
