Halfway through finding and destroying the witch disciples, Evan and Seth find themselves investigating a wellness resort in West Virginia. With some help from familiar friends they go into the fight against shapeshifters, taking down cyber crime, and helping another descendant survive a family curse.
From the blurb:
When a coven of dark warlocks killed Seth Tanner’s brother, Seth became a man driven by vengeance, sworn to stop the cycle of ritual killings, willing to die for the cause. He never expected to fall head over heels in love with the witches’ next intended victim. Evan Malone didn't believe the supernatural was real until Seth swept in with his magic and motorcycle to save him from being the next sacrifice.
Now they’ve gone on the road together, hunting the rest of the coven while they figure out how to keep the white-hot, once-in-a-lifetime bond between them. Days are filled tracking their paranormal quarry, honing their monster hunting skills, and gaining control of the small magics that have made a life-or-death difference. Nights are spent together, entangled in adrenaline-fueled passion, learning how to make this love last forever despite the odds. Seth fears that if they don’t eliminate the rest of the coven, they’ll be on the run forever, and more people will die. Evan is afraid that Seth’s obsession with revenge means they might not survive to get a happily ever after.
Seth and Evan head to West Virginia to confront one of the dark warlocks, a master con man running a cybercrime empire. Can Seth and Evan save the warlock’s next target, bring down his crime syndicate, and live to tell the tale?
Signs and Wonders is a thrill-packed supernatural thrill ride with plenty of paranormal suspense, hurt/comfort, hot nights, found family, deadly magic, immortal witches, determined hunters, haunted places, creepy ghosts, impressive explosions, spooky chills, and sexy thrills, and features an evolving, established romantic relationship with all the feels.
SNik's review:
Seventh in series (Witchbane), must be read in order. Paranormal. Established couple. Found family. Dual POV.
Already researching and heading towards the next witch disciple in West Virginia, Evan and Seth get some help from old friends to help with the upcoming fight. This time they are bringing down a longtime preacher that is now hidden behind a wellness resort and still surrounded by many deaths over the years.
For the first time in this series there is the introduction of shapeshifters which makes Evan and Seth’s job a little harder. I enjoy reading about Evan and Seth as they continue to be as committed as ever and are slowly trying to imagine their lives after their hunting days are over. I wish they verbalized their thoughts to each other more often, but they still convey their love throughout the story. It is so relatable the way they both fear for the other and admirable that they tough it out to fight the evil together. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Molly Otto's review (from 11/2023):
Wow, when you say a couple has to face a lot of tough obstacles to survive, they need a picture of Seth & Evan. The two hunters met in Richmond when Seth saved Evans' life and have been on the hunt for the cult ever since to stop others from facing the same pain Evan faced. The two are trying to find the work life balance to enable them to not only seek their justice, but to also have an enriching long life as well.
What I love about a Morgan Brice book is when all is said and done, the ensemble admits they will have nightmares/ PTSD for all their lives. They will heal, but the events will always be a part of them. This one takes us to Virginia, to the national radio quiet zone, which, as with her other books, is a real place that you can visit.
Allies of the past will come together to stand against their common enemy. And with the end of this story, Evan and Seth always have hope and faith that once they defeat the Coven once and for all, they will be able to grow old together.
I am happy to report that their story will continue on in future books.
Signs and Wonders is currently available as an audiobook, e-book and paperback
