A steamy younger Alpha/older omega story that also brings all the feels. How can Eli deny that there is something special between him and Noah, if only he wasn't his student! An excitingly spicy first book in a new omegaverse romance series!!
From the blurb:
Eli Miller worked hard to get where he’s at. He put in his time with academia, suffered through a contentious divorce, and now he’s months away from securing tenure. And sure, Eli’s let his life get a little small and a little boring, but that’s better than stumbling into another epic mistake like his first marriage.
But when a ridiculously hot alpha way out of Eli’s league asks for a very specific favor, Eli finds himself taking a walk on the wild side for the first time in years. Which wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, until that same young alpha shows up in one of Eli’s classes.
As his student.
Noah Teller has never wanted anyone to be his boyfriend before. His friends say he’s too picky, Noah just thinks he’s…selective. But when an adorable omega with kind eyes and a delicious scent falls into his lap, Noah isn’t afraid to ask for what he wants. And yeah, Eli might be his professor—whoops—but that doesn’t mean Noah’s going to let him get away.
Call him overzealous, call him overeager, but either way, Noah is going to make Eli his.
Overeager is a student x professor, age gap, omegaverse romance. It contains a confident alpha student, an omega professor regretting certain life choices, steamy first times, a case of sweetie pie meets sweetie pie, and an ex-husband who maybe needs a punch to the face. The series is non-shifter omegaverse with no mpreg.
SNik's review:
First in series (Extra Credit). Omegaverse. Professor/student. Secret/forbidden relationship. Age gap. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.
An unexpected one night stand while on vacation sparks overwhelming attraction between a professor omega and younger Alpha. Upon returning home, Eli discovers Noah is a student in one of his classes; he knows they shouldn’t pursue anything, but Noah won’t let the sexy professor go that easily.
This was a steamy and sweet introduction to a new omegaverse, with familiar A/o dynamics, and a cinnamon roll Alpha that dotes on his special omega. Noah may be younger than Eli, but he knows what he wants and how important his connection is with Eli. Both Eli and Noah are likable characters, and they easily fall for each other in a comfortable way, and the author shows that connection inside and outside of the bedroom. I really enjoyed this story, how Eli and Noah appreciated and cared for each other, and when push comes to shove, are willing to risk everything to be together.
Angel's review:
This is such an adorable and spicy Alpha/Omega, MM, Student/Professor romance story! Eli is freshly divorced from his husband of the last 10 years of his life and he decides to go on vacation to a cozy little cabin. While there he meets a confident, charming, and young Alpha who sweeps him off his feet and they share a night together neither can forget. And after that night is where this great book truly begins.
I want to start by saying I absolutely adore Noah, he gives off golden retriever energy in the best way! He's kind, loyal, protective, compassionate, is a good listener, (and learner ;) )), and stands up for his partner when its needed. I wish I had a Noah in my life, haha! Seeing him being so open and kind with his best friends was so sweet and then seeing how he is with Eli is a whole different level of endearing. Eli's nickname for him is completely accurate, he's an absolute sweetheart.
Eli is just as amazing in his own way, he might not be as bubbly or open as Noah but he still shines in his own right. He's kind, compassionate, and loyal too but he's more stubborn and full of worries, and a brain that overthinks everything. (I can relate, boo.) What I found really beautiful is how Noah's actions helped quiet the overactive thoughts in Eli's brain. By Noah continuously showing up and making his wants and interests known so clearly, it helped Eli stay in the present instead of getting whisked away into the land of pesky insecurities. And I thought that was really sweet.
As far as side characters go the ones that make appearances in this story are fantastic! And I'm super excited for them to get their own stories. Spencer, Chase, Ash, and Ryder, are alk great characters in their own right and each of them played fantastic supporting roles throughout the book; while also providing a different dialgoue and breaking up the spice scenes. (Which I appreciated.)
If you're looking for something that has low-heat, this might not be this best fit for you. However, considering how I don't love heavily spicy books, (I'm here for the plot), I still ended up enjoying this story, so I'm sure you can too! While there are quite a lot of spice scenes there are also plenty of moments outside the bedroom that occur that I really enjoyed. All in all, a terrific way to kick off a new series!
