The cute florist throws Jack for a loop and instead of thinking about business all he can think about is kissing Ryan. The mutual attraction feels real, so the past can stay in the past as Jack and Ryan try to find a way forward both in their personal and professional lives together.
From the blurb:
RYAN
I’m finally, and officially, the owner of the Blooming Orchid, Estacada’s best flower shop. But my mom? Let’s say she’s not ready to hand over the reins yet, so my dream of transforming the Orchid into a garden center has to be put on hold.
Enter Jack Keller, the sexy-as-hell ex-bully who’s now a billionaire. He’s back in town and he wants me to relocate the Orchid, so he can build a medical facility to treat paralysis.
Should I help him? He’s hot, he’s funny and he genuinely wants to make a difference. Moving the shop never crossed my mind, but a more central location will benefit the business. The only problem is mom. She won’t like this, but then again, maybe it’s time I set my foot down and rebelled a little.
JACK
My sister and I found the perfect spot for the medical facility we want to build—an old brick building in our childhood town. I just need to buy out the three owners first.
Two agree. As for the last one… The cute florist isn’t the one whose name is on the deed. But he agrees to help me if I help him. As we put together a data-driven plan, sparks fly. Ryan is sweet, flirty and awesome, yet his parents hate me for more than my billionaire status.
That’s fine. I’m a real charmer in person. I just wish I didn’t have to find out from them that my lovely florist has been hiding a secret from me.
Bloom and Burn is a small town MM romance, which follows a billionaire genius who wants to help his sister walk again, and the cute florist whose shop is in the way. It features an ex-bully with a golden heart, a sassy flower shop owner, feelgood vibes, low angst between the main characters, meddling/controlling parents, no third-act breakup and a HEA. It is Book 2 in the Billionaire Temptation series, and while characters from the other books make cameos, it can be read as a complete standalone.
SNik's review:
Second in series (Billionaire Temptations), but can be read as a standalone. Small town. Dual POV.
Back in his hometown, Jack has plans to build a new research medical facility to help people like his sister, but he doesn’t expect his attraction to the florist that he’s meant to talk into selling his building. Ryan recognizes Jack as someone that used to hang around with his former bullies, but he can see Jack has changed, and their interest in each other can’t be denied.
The initial attraction and then building of a relationship between Jack and Ryan felt natural even if it was quick, they had an instant connection. The adversity with Ryan’s parents and not between Jack and Ryan made them falling for each other feel easier and less angsty, even though Ryan did have to be at odds with his parents. Jack and Ryan are super sweet together, have a supportive character in Jack’s sister, and I really appreciated that Ryan stood up for himself when it came to his own goals. A cute story where the billionaire status of one MC didn’t really affect any part of the relationship and was only a side part of the story.
