High Stakes and Soulmates (Fanged Mistakes Book 3) by Alice Winters

HIGH STAKES AND SOULMATES is the highly anticipated love story of Ezio and the reluctant Cyrus.

From the blurb:

Ezio

One would think that being over two hundred years old would at least give me some skill at wooing the man of my dreams, though oddly, I seem to be fumbling around more than wooing.
But that’s alright, I will fumble my way right into Cyrus’s life if he lets me. After a rocky start, Cyrus is finally starting to open up to me as he realizes that vampires might not be all bad.
When Cyrus pulls me into a case, he discovers how much he needs me… and my werewolf friend disguised as a detection dog.
My past haunts my every step, but there’s nothing I want more than to leave my mistakes behind and focus on my future with the man I adore.

Cyrus
Death after death draws Ezio and me deeper into a mystery that is tearing through the city. My fear is that whoever is killing these people is toying with us, and I know I can’t figure it out alone.
Thankfully, Ezio is prepared to help me with anything I need (and then some), and he doesn’t come alone. He has Casimir (who is happy as long as Steve isn’t around), Julian (when he’s not naked), and Yorick (why is Yorick here?), who are determined to end this. But what we find is unlike anything we ever imagined.
Though it can’t possibly be worse than the delivery lady walking in on Julian naked again.
Ezio is ready to help me through it (the murder bit, not the Julian bit), if only I can leave my fears behind me long enough to accept the man I want more than anything.

Molly Otto's review:

I was not prepared for the rollercoaster that is Ezio and Cyrus love story. As we all have seen in previous installments of the Fanged Mistakes universe, Ezio has had it bad for Cyrus and is slowly breaking down his walls. Cyrus has been hiding so much from the group on why vampires affect them as they do, and when it comes out its heart shattering for all involved especially Ezio who Cyrus has not given the proper chance at showing not all vampires are bad. You understand his reluctance to let these men in. You just feel empathy for not only him but for Ezio, who has kept proving that he will protect Cyrus no matter what it takes for him to be happy. These two do eventually start to become closer, but right when Cyrus finally allows Ezio in, its Ezio's past that comes barreling in and throwing all the world on its axis yet again. The connection of these two men is so brilliantly powerful when they allow it to know they were written in the stars to get these chances. So much past trauma shows that you need support to move forward. This group may be a mess, but together, they are a beautifully dysfunctional unit of love and support. Be ready for an emotional rollercoaster of love and support and two men moving on from past pain onto something more.

DuffetteReads review:

I absolutely adore this series. All the puppers and floofs. This one wasn't as funny as the other two in the series, but it was more deep than the rest. There are some funny bits, don't get me wrong. But this one takes you on an epic love story. Your heart can't help but break a little, but everyone gets a well deserved HEA in this book.

I'm really hoping there's a book four with Yorick. I love his 'Puppers, save me'. I think he's finally starting to grow on the gang.
